Have you ever experienced the power of the Holy Ghost?

I thought I did before but now I'm not so sure. I'm not sure about anything anymore but I really want to know the truth. I wonder how we are suppose to find out the truth about God, Jesus and the Bible. I wonder if there is such a thing as the Holy Ghost that Jesus talked about and referred to as "the comforter". I get so mixed up; I don't know what to believe in. But I know that I believe in people being good and caring about their fellow men and not just their friends and their families.
