Hi all. As for the topic of the subject, I was wondering why is it always happen that blondes being related to the low level of intelligent around. They've been around for long already. Are the statistics shows that blondes really indeed have this low level of intelligent amongst those who are brunette, dark and red haired people? Anyway, I hope some don't get offended with the topic since I just wondering. In my real life, there's no blondes around and I found out even the dark haired people are as dumb as being annoying to me as well, by asking something obvious repeatedly with knowing that the answer is just in front of them with common sense. Thanks for discussing with me!

My hair has been every colour under the sun - my intelligence has stayed the same!! I can see no reason what so ever what difference hair colour makes to intelligence; all my children were blonde (again their colours change with their moods!!) but they are all very intelligent - both academically and in life, so NO hair colour makes no difference to intelligence in my opinion.

True! I know some blonde and they too are intelligent, one of them even knows a lot of languages! It's just the stereotype people subject them to. Which is unfair I think.

I think so too. The media and some pictures I saw perhaps trigger my inquiry to know the truth. Wondering the natures climatic environments sometimes reflects the most of human being appearance through hair color.

Hi cursoralbert, Making fun of blonde people has crossed limits, to this extent that some can even think that this it is true. I am not blaming you friend. I am not a blonde either. All of us know that the colour of the hair and skin doesn't matter when we compare each other with our intelligence level. We are all the same.

I am not trying to make fun of others. Just that it's always heard in movies that the phrase "dumb blonds" always makes me wonder is it real or not. Anyway, if some felt offended, I am sorry. Just an inquiry of my curious intention.

most blonds are actually brunettes because they dye their hair.

Not really! I think the color of our hair doesnt really indicate our level of intellect. Maybe its already a stereotype that people think that once you are blonde, then you are dumb. Its just that there are just so many blondes that are dumb. There was one time when I was watching Larry King live and he was interviewing this author of a book and I guess she really was a dumb blonde.

Stereotypes and reality. It's what I need to know from this discussion. Anyway, suppose the stereotype not influence other more people around. It may be funny but for some they are offensive. Correct?

I think it's a bad reputation with the girls are pretty and blonde, because of all the women, being beautiful, dyed blonde, can not do anything, and use their beauty to get as high as possible, and the worst of all is that they do, they do not need to study, prepare, or anything just because your body get everything they want. But this is a myth that all blondes are dumb, there are ample exceptions and many are not dumb blond hair natural.

I admit blonds are unique since the hair color are bright and different from others. I might guessing that the stereotype must been from folks legend that relate the blond with intelligent level around their community once. Or perhaps it's just a gimmick made up to make everyone laughs in some comedies.

I really don't think the color of your hair matters when it comes to hair color. I too have always been curious as to why blondes are seen as having a low level of intelligence. But they don't. There are some blondes that are very intelligent. Maybe all those shows like 'the hills' made blondes seem unintelligent.

Yup. I admit these kind of shows always made the stereotype of blonds related to low intelligent level. But somehow, even though it's kind of funny to hear but for blonds it's not funny. Anyway, perhaps there's solution on kicking out of the perception soon.

For years, being blond meant no brains. I can't tell you how many dumb blonde jokes i have heard over the years. it is insulting and i am not even blonde. What does hair color have to do with how intelligent a person is? Blonde, brunette, or redhead, we all have the same capabilities for intelligence. We can't judge how smart a person is by physical attributes. that has to come from within.

I think hair color don't do anything in that aspect or in anything all I know is when a person born or created in a cold place their hair turns into blond.

I think it's not only environment that made the changes of color to each human being. Perhaps some substance and chemical which consumed through ages made certain genetic mutation to modify the color of hairs on human being. I believe some scientist said that before.

No being blonde has nothing to do with your intelligence, that is just a very rude and old stereotype that some people think is funny. I am a blonde myself and I have to say, I am much more intelligent than most brunettes I know, haha!

Good to hear a blonds confidently stands out to prove the stereotype is wrong. But somehow, do everyone around you sees that the nature of your hair is blonds making them assume that you are not as intelligent as theirs? Do you get those perceptions everytime someone new knows you?

Well it happens in every country that a certain group of people or community is considered as low. I have heard that in UK the yorkshire people are considered to be less smarter. In india the sardars are considered to be less intelligence, its just considered but they are not.

Perhaps there's some statistics regarding the area of living influenced the intelligent level. Maybe the assumptions are made base on the amount of graduates from the area are the lowest from the other part of the country.

If you ask me, it's the usual stereotype, like you're a nerd if you have glasses or braces. I don't think there are known statistics 'proving' that blondes are 'stupid'. It just so happens that most of the blondes people encounter are, well, dumb. Plus, the media highlights this and even helps in promoting the stereotype by portraying blondes in movies and tv programs as dumb and stupid.

Yeah. I think you are right. Stereotypes to have certain statement looks funny but also kind of offensive to some people. But somehow it's influenced a lot of people minds about blonds.

i think there is no obvious relations between inteligent level and hair color at least a friend of mine is very clever with blonde hair ,so the statistic data shows only a possiblity thing , not all the people around the world. all the thing exists do have bad and good one
