My aunt presented a new gameboy when I was a little child. I was happy to get it. I thought I want to show my peer friends at school. It was funny. In morning early, I prepared for later school, I packed a gameboy, book, pencil and rubber into backpack. My mother called me "Come to ready for school." I walked into out door. My mother stood at a door. she said me "You give me a backpack." I gave it to her. She checked it to find a gameboy. She showed it to me, asking "Why are you bringing it to school?" I am nervous and no answer nothing. She shouted me "You must focus an education, don't playing a gameboy at your school. Next time, don't bring it to there. It only leaves at home. Do you understand what I said things?!" I nodded my mother "Mother, I understand" I rode in a car with her to school.

Mother was right. I hope you learned a valuable lesson from her. Just play at home and do school work at school and don't mix the two.

I never had any kind of video games when I was little. It didn't really bother me though since I could always play them at a friend's house. Now that I have kids my daughter is asking for a DS or DSi. She's been asking for this for about a year now. I'm waiting for the prices to drop. I don't think kids should be allowed to take the video games to school. There's no reason why they can't wait until they get home to play them. I guess it would keep them out of trouble on the school bus though.

I had a gameboy and I never took it school because I just didn't want. I played just weekends, I could play every day but I didn't like playing in the week. So, I was like that :o

I had a Gameboy once, and I loved it. Problem was, there were times when I was hooked on it, especially if I was playing Tetris. Tetris was very addictive.

I had been firm to my kid on not bringing of any game consule, barbie doll, or any toy to school. Your mother is right. Concentrate on your education for there will be time for playing.

I think is no good to bring gameboy to school. School is for study not for playing. If we bring it to school, we can't focus on our study. I also along my kids play gameboy only at home on weekend.

Children should not be allowed to bring toys into school, because school is a place to study ... we should parents must supervise children in the future of our children so that later the child would become useful to your nation.

I don't know if I am too old or just not into these things but I don't remember that gameboys already existed when I was young hehehe I remember portable electronic games but they are not game boys and I don't take much interest in them, only my brothers As for my boys, yes, they do have game boys, I don't let them bring it to school since it is not allowed, it will be distracting and it might get lost. Gameboys are not exactly that cheap. I let my boys play with them only during weekends and summers. During school days, they have to focus on their lessons.

Wow.. I used to have a lime green gameboy that I loved to play my Pokemon game on.. but gameboys seem like such a thing of the past now. I have a two year old daughter and she loves electronics already. I bought her a "my size" Spongebob notebook so that she can have her own computer. I also got her a Nintendo DS and she plays with my iPod touch a lot. She loves games so far and is already computer-savvy. Kids are so smart these days...

Well, she just want you to focus more on studies back then. I think it is alright to allow your kids to use a gameboy if they enjoy playing video games at their free time. Just dont allow them to use it excessively.

Hello, I got GAME BOY as a present from my Brother.I got this present when i was a teenager.GAME boy attracted me so much .When i began playing with GAME BOY my marks in subjects began to fell.I cannot concentrate on my works.Whenever i start to do my works,i cannot do it.From that time,my parents restricted the GAME BOY for me.I would use to play one hour daily. When my playing hour was reduced ,my marks began to rise in the studies.I was able to get full concentration on my homework. There is no mistake in playing the GAME BOY.But we should play it only in our leisure times. So we should not allow children to stick with the GAME BOY every time.

When i had my first game boy i didn't had that problem at all. :) i was still the second best student in my class... So i think it does nothing to do with learning. I will allowe my children to play them as well... And they will learn english too :)
