I can attest to the fact that public schools could rate higher on the list. They are intellectual sewers, fostering political and economic indoctrination, and not providing a safe place for our children to be. I have watched teachers, one of the largest unions in this country, ignore bullying of students, and showing themselves to be both inept academically, and morally uncaring. Of course, this does not characterize "every single teacher", but that is the spirit and that is the trend. Sometimes the worst offenders are kicked up to management positions, but they are rarely kicked out due to their union clout and the amount of information they can use to blackmail administration for school officials' nefarious deeds.

Sadly, Rose, you are right. I could tell you story after story, from incompetence to crime. And, years ago, there was a news story about how principal-ships were bought and sold.

Very good points to raise Epicure. I am not anti union but I have noticed that the teacher's unions seem to be more harmful than helpful. In my opinion, if a person does not have daily contact with students, then they should not be part of the education budget.

I agree dear, we are struggling here in our school district, it is the worst! I have moved my daughter out of the district this year, I will drive her 20 minutes into the next one. Our district admin is so out there and out if touch. One of the worst in the state and they keep saying nothing will get better until they get a ton more money.

Well, you know how I feel about the V.A. medical system so of course I'd remove that one from the list. Of course, I've only had personal experience with MD and FL but my husband has been very well taken care of and he has a lot of medical problems.

I would have to agree, though my experience is only with the Florida VA as well. My father has had very good experiences with them, despite limited resources.

I am very glad that the vets are being well cared for there! I think the issue now is the level of waste.

LMFAO, I noticed that they didn't mention the number one rated department for waste: The Department of Defense. But, what do you expect from FOX?

ok debater, but I would not want to live in that country that would not spend the money on defense. If not the Department of defense, then how would we protect our nation?

KENNY, spending hundreds of billions on national defense sure did a great job stopping 9/11. Have you ever looked at the amount of waste in the department of defense? Even republicans are calling for cuts, because they know that the country can't afford it anymore. Why do we need a defense department when we are destroying the country from in the inside!!!!!

I agree with this list...but I would add the department of defense due to all the government contracts.

I agree with the list except for the VA. My husband gets very good medical care there.
