Hello mylotters.... In 1998 commonwealth games cricket was included for the first time, it had 16 teams with weakened sides of india and pakistan due to their clash in sahara cup. Many of you may be surprised to know that "chokers" tagged south africans won the gold medal that time. This inclusion of cricket was not considered successful and due to this reason it was not included in the next editions of commonwealth games. But now due to the success of short format of cricket "T20", it is been indicated that this format is likely to be added in the later commonwealth games probably in 2014. Also many famous players like steve waugh, adam gilchrist, saurav ganguly and kumar sangakkara are in favour of including T20 format in olympic games as well. I think commonwealth games and olympics are good platforms of promoting cricket at the world level. What you all think about that.....??

But India has decided not to register it's team for the Common Wealth games. The official reason cited is player fatigue!! I mean that is ridiculous, this was a sport where India had a good chance of winning a medal and BCCI plays this kind of dirty trick!! I think the government should impose a huge amount of taxes on these kind of sporting bodies to bring them in line with the national spirit rather than just profiteering. Cheers! Ram

BCCI is just concentrating on making huge amount of money, if players have time to play for IPL then why not for commonwealth and olympic games.
