Toothache VS Headcahe

Which do you prefer, having a toothache or a headache? I would prefer none but if I would choose I will go for headache since the pain is much easier to tolerate than of the toothache. Since I was in grade school, I always suffer from toothache and damn I considered it a nightmare. I need to see the dentist often and I hate it. My daily activities are sometimes ruined because of my toothache and the worse part is that I can't even sleep. At least for headache, you can tolerate it and even sleep when you have it. How about you?

A toothache gives you a headache. I think it's like labor, the labor pains come and go, it's the same with a toothache. The pain even wakes you up from your sleep if it gets to be too bad.

yes you're right, severe toothache leads to headache and it is like having a bad dream haunting you and the worse thing is that you cannot easily get back to sleep once it started haunting you in the middle of the night.

Paracetamol usually works for me to cure headaches but for toothaches I tried different tablets before but nothing work for good. Some may have work but it only lasts for several hours and I'm back again crying. lol

Last night I started to get a toothache and it reminded me of this discussion. I thought "Wow now I'm going through this whole discussion...lol" Good thing that today I woke up feeling good.

I prefer to have a headache, but that is usually suffer and sometimes are stronger migraine. The toothache is worse, by the comments I have heard, I've been to the dentist, I have not had a cavity, if I have got toothache, worse when I took the wisdom teeth, but not what it is to have a toothache and I did not try.

yeah some people are lucky enough to have a super healthy teeth it's good for them because they are saved from pain that is not tolerable at all. It's good I already graduated from severe toot aches and I never wish to experience it again.

I had healthy teeth until my "wisdom teeth started coming in. That is when I experienced real teeth pain. In fact in the end I had to have them all removed over a period of time and that really was painful!

i think i will choose headache too.. becaus ei think i am more used to head aches than tooth aches and i think it would be less bearable than your head ache. besides with headache, i think you would even be able to just sleep it off, sniff some menthol and it would already give you a temporary relief, whereas toothache would really be such a big problem, and discomfort.

A toothache is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I remember when I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled a few years ago. I was standing at the counter at work crying. I have never hurt like that before or since. So, if I had to choose, I would take the headache...

me too, it is the worst pain I also had. Often times I don't attend classes because of it and I also had this experience when I was crying heading home because I can no longer stand the pain. The taxi driver thought I had a bad day breaking up with my boyfriend and he laughed at me when I told him that I'm having a really bad toothache and I want to stay home.

Yep, My wisdom teeth brought a few tears to my eyes too and I was a young adult when they were coming in and when they had to be removed. That was double trouble! The pain actually made me sick.

I prefer headache than toothache. Headache can be cured in instant and even in just sleeping without any medications, but toothache really is such terrible and couldn't be cured in instant. I always cry and can curse anything everytime I had a toothache.

toothache is really terrible and I also use to cry when it starts to ache. When I was in high school, I tried everything just to stop the pain like gargling with vodka, chewing 1 clove of garlic and even ginger but it does not work. The pain is lessen but just for a few minutes. It's crazy but I really did those. :)

Hi "aphrodite", We must be on the same page. My mom gave me those same things when I was a youngster too. You are correct, they only work for a short time but what a relief and when I was hurting any time without the pain was like heaven.

yeah a little relief is really great but it does not last that long not unless you choose to let your tooth be pulled and based on what I had experienced before, after extracting my tooth I will end up crying after 3 months again because another tooth is starting to give me the same problem. It's really an unending nightmare for me but thank God, I never had aching tooth for several years now.. :)

Toothache is such a pain and will eventually give you a headache. So I prefer just a headache. You can easily relieve your headache paracetamol which can easily be bought anywhere without prescription and it is safe.

yeah pain killers just like paracetamol can relieve headaches easily but sometimes it does not work for toothaches, if it does, it just last for several hours. As far as I could remember, 1 paracetamol does not work for me so I need to take 3 max to soothe the pain especially during night time when I really want to sleep.

Yes, I am of the same opinion as you! Toothache is more intolerable and causes more discomfort than headache. There are more varieties of relief methods from headache, but toothache has very limited relief methods. Also, headache may get stopped or reduced by a sleep for a while unlike toothache! Since teeth are connected with our brain and eyes through nerves, toothache can cause headache in some cases also! Thanks and be free from these problems!!

Yeah I am now free from toothache and I wish I will never had this problem again. I really suffered from toothaches for several years before and those were the worst years of my life.

I don't like both of them. But if I have to choose, I prefer to have a headache because the toothache is much more suffering. I can't stand the pain from the teeth. I love China

I'm with you on this one. I was fortunate to have really good teeth but even at that I still managed to have a few toothaches. I don't have to tell how that goes. PURE PAIN! I also as a youth was prone to migraine headaches which I could tolorate far better than the teeth. After awhile I out grew the headaches. Besides a little asprin and some rest usually ended the headaches. As an adult I only get headaches when I am under stress of have a bad "hangover" from the nite before. What about you?

me too, I usually have headaches when I'm stressed and a good sleep works for me to conquer the pain. I also experienced having a headache when I had a hangover before and a lot of cold water and long sleep can cure it.

I can put up with a toothache some how and challenge it to the point where it would stop hurting. But a toothache is worser than a headache. I prefer headache over toothache due to the fact that you have so many over the counter medicines that will help you get rid of your headaches. Toothache aids are not reliable cause you can take some over the counter medicine for it and it still want go away. Toothaches tends to be more stubborn than a headache. What I think is that toothaches go away when they wanna go away, which is a terrible thing. Some people will get a break from it and some wont and if this happens then that means you need to see a dentist right away.
• Philippines

yeah, toothache is really stubborn compared to headache and I guess the dentists can't really help unless you chose to let your aching tooth be pulled. I hope there will be an effective over the counter medicine for toothaches which will help relieve the pain for a longer period of time.

I prefer a toothache over a headache. Although both are painful, any pain related to your head can be dangerous whereas any pain related to your tooth can be cured by pulling the tooth out. Consistent headaches could also be signs of something more serous going on whereas a tooth ache is just that, a tooth problem.

Wow, the first one who prefer toothache rather than headache. hehe. Yes, you're right but regular headaches may lead to something and it's the same for toothache because it might also lead to heart failure.

Hi. cheatedaphrodite. I would rather have a headache. I can deal with this more better. Having a toothache is a mad killer! It is very painful and annoying! I can lay my head on my pillow to relieve my headache or I could even take a pain killer. But, when I have a toothache, it just won't go away no matter how tight that I press my face up against the pillow.

if I could choose more alternative, I would choose none of them. :) however, toothache is unbearable. because usually when I got toothache, the terrible headache would also come. and the pain, truly a nightmare even during a daylight. LOL. headache alone was still 'okay'. after some good sleep, the headache would disappear quickly.
