Ever been mistaken as someone else's parent/child before?

This has been happening to me a lot lately, especially at the shop. My cousin likes to hang out there sometimes and customers are always mistaking him as my son. They keep going on and on about my son being helpful and polite and things like that. We'd have to correct them and tell them that we're cousins but the funny thing is that some of them make the same mistake the next time they visit. It used to be annoying but I pretty much let it slide these days. There was also this one time where I was mistaken as my employer's child. I was working for this handicapped lady and we were running errands. A lady came up to her and told my boss that she had a really helpful daughter and she got really upset. I thought it was hilarious since we looked nothing alike but my boss was a bit upset about the mistake. I don't really blame her about the incident. She is only a few years older than me after all. Has anything like this happened to anyone else before? And how did you handle the situation?

I've never been mistaken as someone's son but i've been mistaken as a father. Me and my ex used to hang out with this kid where i previously lived. People are starting to comment us that we have a cute daughter. At first we always replied that she's not our daughter but as time went by we just ignored the comments and just smile. Lol

I can understand that. It does get pointless trying to point out the mistake so often. I usually just agree with the person and move on.

I have never mistaken any body's parents but my mother mistaken another person's child. There was one time when she thought it was me. Well, I knew about that because we were together she mistakenly took another girls hand to come to go with her.
