If we are traveling at the speed of light, what will we see? Will we see anything at all? Or will everything look blurry?

hmm... i guess we won't see anything. we probably won't be able to open our eyes at all, or...we don't get the chance to do that because it's just to fast~ according to wikipedia, the speed of light is 299,792,458 metres per second. that's very fast! have you tried riding a motorcycle or a motorbike that's running real fast (say,175mph? fast enough?) and you aren't wearing eyeglasses, sunglasses or whatever kind of glass that could protect your eye? well i have, and it's very difficult to keep your eyes open; it would irritate the eye to even try. i hope you could imagine what i'm saying. and at the speed of light, you'd probably get to where you're going so fast that there's no time to 'look'. it's like blinking 3 times and you'd be 299,792,458 meters away from where you started. if you intend to 'see' something (let's say you're wearing something to protect your eyes from the effects of speed), where would you be going exactly? haha(^0^)/

Well lets say to the nearest star (besides the sun) Do you think we can see it getting bigger and bigger as we approach it? And ofcourse we are inside a space ship so we are protected.

haha. good thing you made it clear that we are in a spaceship~!^_^ if not, i would've created a scenario where nothing could be seen or something. i tend to complicate things. i think yeah we probably would see it getting bigger~ the thing is, we are now talking of distances that are far enough to actually make the speed of light sound...normal... if we were to think of traveling at the speed of light on earth, then that would feel dizzy. but if we were to go to space at the same speed then maybe it would seem like a normal trip home if you were like a Martian or something! lol(^_^)/ don't you agree? haha;)

I think we would view our surroundings like we view light. Light (unless put through a filter) is white. So everything would be blended together. You can't see individual colors or detail. You would just see white light. You wouldn't be able to judge distance or speed. It would just seem as if you are floating in mid air surrounded by whiteness. Of course you wouldn't survive. You would run into something, and be broken apart into trillions of tiny tiny pieces.

If you travel at the speed of light, everything that surrounds us slows down. So if your were to say you left Earth and traveled at the speed of light for a few days and came back home, people that you left behind would have aged significantly and you would be just as the same age as the time you left them.

I suspect there would be sort of a blackout involved, as our brains can't really perceive that quickly.

You can't see the speed of light because of it's speed. I guess that would work both both ways. If you are the traveler travelling at that speed certainly you wont see anything except a blur.

Traveling at the speed of light we see nothing, because the human eye is adapted to adapt to these conditions.
