I was watching a movie trailer minutes ago and this crossed my mind. I was watching "Despicable Me". And the guy was a villain. And yes, it has been in the movie house - July I think, to other countries. But because I'm too busy, I have not watched a movie in months. I don't even know if it is already in the Philippines. So this is the question.
Why can't villains be heroes?
As we all watch movies, villains will always be next to heroes. I have never seen a movie where the main character is a villain, that he is the hero, that he gets whatever he wants, he gets victorious in the end - all in one movie.

Guess if we think the villan is a hero that's all that counts. I always did like the under dog in some movies. I haven't been to the movie in years so i have u beat, lol.

If you have watched of any batman films, you could have seen how one person evolves to be a villain. Example, the second dark knight film that showed Harvey aka Two Face. His transformation of becoming a villain from a hero - mainly because something tragic has happened to him. All villains goes through a very tragic events and they become one because they can't accept of the bad that has happened to them even if there's still goodness in their hearts.
Remember Mr. Freeze who helped Batman in the end to save Alfred (the batman movie where Alicia Silverstone was on it - lol ).
Lots of factors actually. But like the first post said, heroes are nothing without them. :D

Yeah, I guess the tragic things that happen to the villains causes them to be somehow evil. But yeah, some of them like what you said - Mr.Freeze, they can be good too. Thanks for the response and happy mylotting!

There are three type of characters; the heroes, the villains, and antiheroes. The villains are probably the most important as without them, the hero would have nothing to do. The antiheroes could be described as heroes who don't follow the same rules. Batman could be called an antihero.
I have not seen Despicable Me but from the commercials I've seen, it seems to me the main character is not a true villain but is attempting to be one. Without seeing the movie, I cannot be sure of this or give a reason why.

I agree with you. I think without villains the movie will not have any challenge. Villains has important roles too. Like making the heroes, be more heroes. lol. Thanks for the response and happy mylotting!
