do you go for gender when you wnat to have baby?

It is sad in developing & under developed countries and some developed countries too are too concerned on the gender of their child, most want male to survive and some want girl to be dumped. What does this mean, does it mean people are looking for male dominated society where women are evolving at much faster rate than men do. They don't want women they want men. This is not justified for nature to thanks for.

I always wanted a baby boy. It's just that for me it's low maintenance compared to a girl. Plus, i'd be heart broken more if my girl kid would go away to marry some other man. That would just be sad.

I prefer a girl for my first child, since all my siblings and immediate relatives are male dominated,.but I am not that extreme wherein I will dump a child when it turns the way i wanted gender-wise, I will still gladly accept any gender God will give me as my own child in the future.
But I pray more that it will not turn out to be a homosexual at this nature is not yet freely accepted in my society and I will fear for the growing years she/he may encounter, it will be filled with mockery and discrimination for sure.

No i believe that life should be a surprise and i wouldn't want to know or select the gender of the baby. Yes i know what you mean. Most families are not aware of family planning and hence have lots of kids which becomes difficult for them also to maintain everything in life. Males are dominating everyone....It's not fair..
