Do you remember your friends by thier avatars?

I actually remember them by name. I only sometimes remember people by their avatars but mainly by names. $-MrDollars-$

Hey, Linda! This is a very good question.I guess it depends on each persons' type of memory. Some people have better visual memory, while others remember numbers and dates better. I, for example remember better peoples faces and in this case their avatars. Since you can't personally meet people in the electronic environment, avatars are the fastest way to picture the person from behind the keyboard. And, in my opinion, the fastest way to remember them by. Of course a short, catchy name can work pretty good as well. The second thing i remember a user by, besides their avatar is their posts. If something catches my attention in what they are saying, i'll be sure to remember all the details regarding that user. So I guess that even though memory is selective and subjective, people will remember you easily if you post interesting things no matter how many times you change your avatar.

Many a times we don't remember the name of the person if his/her avatar is catchy or nice.i have many friends which i remember by their avatars.Normally this happens when a person has a difficult name.If the picture represents their real character then it is very easy to remember them.Many use their hobbies/games which they like which are so famous that we can't remember them by their avatars. Hi Linda, Yes, primarily I identify my friends with their avatars. But sometimes they change their avatars so it becomes little bit difficult to relocate them. I myself changed my avatar number of times. But it is actually entertaining to see my friends changing their avatars. Sometimes they put avatars according to their moods which is more interesting. When the picture fails to identify a friend, I have to look by the name, which is actually a sweet adventure. Thanks. God bless you

I do sometimes, but sometimes I do recognized them even if they change their avatars...because sometimes when they do, their avatars have the same features, or the pictures they are uploading have the same motions...that's how I recognized them. Sometimes I don't remember a picture of User. I only remember a few picture of User. I am new here since last week.

Yes, but for those who I know changes their picture, or has none,I have learned to learn their user name to so I know..There has been times someone had replied to one of my posts and I thought I knew who they were, but was wrong...

Hi Linda! You know it's funny that you brought that up. Some of my friends I remember by their avatars because they stand out for one reason or another, especially if it is an animal or something weird (not always a good weird either). But, then there are others who I just know right away by name, like you!lol I honestly wouldn't know your avatar and didn't even know you changed it! What was it before?lol
