The heart was meant to love. The intellect to add flavors to the love of the heart. When the two are not one.....the intellect can rational matter and often the end result is a blame game! If human kind use their heart as much as we use our intellect then, I think, the world would be a much better place to live. What do you say?

I think there has to be a balance. Humans are not solely rational creatures. They're emotional creatures as well. Quite often their intellect can be clouded by emotions, which could lead to irrational decisions, such as buying a car or a house that didn't meet your criteria because you simply "fell in love" with it. On the other hand, intellect alone without emotion can lead one to commit horrible crimes and atrocities, such as the Nazis, who were devoid of emotions such as love or compassion. Nowadays, I see people in both extremes- those who rely on logic alone, and those who react emotionally only. We need the intellect to understand the root cause of what we feel, keep it under control (esp. anger), and make logical and rational decisions. But we also need the emotions to enable us to have more harmonious relationships with other human beings. That's because our emotions enable us to be sensitive to the emotional needs of others. So I agree that we need both the heart and the mind to make the world a much better place to live.
