Well as you wishes to upgrade now, go for a better setup which would serve you atleast 3-4 years or so. For the processor, go with the Quad core(any brand Intel/AMD). AMD are more value for money+ you can always upgrade your processor without any hassle of upgrading motherboard also. But in Intel, if you wish to upgrade processor later on, then you have to choose only that processor which is compatible with your motherboard. RAM-atleast 4GB DDR3 1333MHz or 1600MHz(for enhanced performance) Hard Drive- 1 TB for sure(you can get 1TB for Rs. 3200-3400, and 500GB for Rs.2000) Motherboard--any good brand..if going with AMD setup, then MSI has quite good motherboard which supports USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0(6Gbps). These features are missing in Intel and we all know that in 1-2 years down the line USB 2.0 will be overcome by USB 3.0. Cabinet--Dont buy those cheap Intex or similar cabinet. These looks damn cheap and the quality is really bad. Go for any Cooler Master cabinet. It looks cool and also built quality is quite good + have added advantage of more room for upgrade. Power Supply a.k.a. SMPS-- I've highlighted this coz people in India just dont spend much on power supply coz they dont think its importance.People just take those cheap Intex,Techcomm, or I advice you to spend some amount on good branded power supply.I'm talking about Corsair, Gigabyte and FSP. Go for atleast a Gigabyte 400W/ 460W or FSP SAGA II 450W if getting a computer under 30K. If more budget then go for Corsair VX 400W or COrsair VX 450W. Monitor--Settle for Dell 22 inch or Benq 22 Inch Full HD monitor. They are doing good in Indian market and got the most no. of +ve review from its users.

For Rs.30K or so, you can get a cheap rig as mentioned by amrendra, but if you want a nice and decent computer, then add some money to the budget. Extend your budget to minimum Rs.35K or 40K if you want a good computer which can last for 3-4 years without being outdated and will play all the recent and upcoming games also. So, if you have a budget upto Rs.40K (maximum), then i'll suggest you a decent and most value for money configuration.

Hi sach143! Before I can give you some suggestions, can I ask you some few details? What is your plan for your new computer? Is it for GAMING? Is to be used for APPLICATIONS such as VIDEO EDITING? How much is your BUDGET? You should consider these few things before you decide on what you want to have in your computer. A few pointers that I could suggest: The BIGGER the MEMORY, the BETTER, especially for Application software that you are planning to use. Plan to have A GRAPHICS CARD that has HIGHER MEMORY on board, faster memory clock and GPU clock if you want it to use for GAMING. Acquire a LARGER CAPACITY HARD DRIVE if you want to store MUSICS and VIDEOS and you use a lot of PROGRAMS to be installed in your system. Hope this helps! Thanks!

Honestly, I have no idea about ORACLE and SQL but I did some research on system requirements of these applications: Processor: Intel or AMD running @ 2.0Ghz and above is recommended. Memory: 2GB and above is recommended. For x64 versions of these applications: Processor: Intel or AMD that supports 64bit applications. Memory: 4GB and above is recommended. For your system specifications: Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 Quad-core CPU - (Cheaper than Intel) Motherboard: Asus or Asrock that supports AM3 CPU and Dual-channel support. - (Good quality motherboards on my experience) Memory: 2Gb/4Gb DDR2/DDR3 - depends on the motherboard you have. (Kingston or Corsair are good quality in this criteria). Hard drive: 500GB SATA II (SATA III if your motherboard can support) - (Western Digital Caviar BLACK for better performance.) Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce with atleast 1GB of RAM - (The higher, the better especially for the latest games you want to play.) Casing w/ Power Supply: 500Watts or higher is recommended - (Antec is good quality casing. Antec power supply is also included). LCD, mouse, keyboard and speakers are optional. These items depends on your preferences. The above specs are only suggestions, you can change any of those items depending on your budget. You can check out newegg for some other items. www.newegg.com Hope this helps! Goodluck!

Well i would like to say you that go for branded desktops like Dell ... in addition a graphic card isa must this days ..so be sure to have it in your new machine...320gb hardisk 3 gb ram will be wonderful..just surf through Dell's site you will have all the info..the disadvantage in buying branded desktop is that you will not have as much options as you would have with assembled ones's..

-1 for branded system and that too Dell. Thats very costly bro in India. Assembled are the right one as there is enough headroom to allow upgrade at any time. And as you mentioned that graphic card is must in any system, you cant get a high performance graphic card in any Dell machine under Rs 50K or so. Nice graphic cards are only available either in their XPS brand or Alienware. Whereas in assembled PC, one can easily get a nice, decent config under 30K and a good config with much faster and better graphic card for Rs. 35K or 40K. And in performance test, it would easily beat Dell XPS (which is around Rs50K or so without monitor). So, why wasting money on branded PC when you can easily get a faster and more advanced PC by spending less amount.
