Shouldn't Catholic priests be allowed to marry?

With the wave of allegation of abuse growing daily and bishops resigning one after the other, will it not be a better approach for the Vatican to consider a shift on marraige matters for the priests? Jesus did not forbid marrige. I think we need to save the face of the global church by embracing a paragidm shift.
