Can a proxy IP address improve your internet speed? I am having trouble with the speed of my connection, I was wondering if using a Proxy IP add will somehow solve my problem... Any suggestions anyone?

I don't think that a proxy server will solve your problems. Having a better speed depends first of all on your Internet service provider and what type of computer you have. Clearing cache, history and keeping your computer in good working order free from viruses, doing defragmentation etc, helps a lot. I think that this article found in this website will help you to clear your ideas about proxy servers. http://www.essortment.com/all/proxiesproxyfi_ngt.htm So why should you use a proxy? You can use a proxy server if you have a child and wish to restrict the sites they are viewing, you will need to make sure you get the correct type of proxy because not all proxies filter sites. You can use it to protect yourself, it can be used to hide your IP which is useful because it means hackers can not get info about you when using it. They will only get the proxy servers IP. Proxy servers are not hard to set up, no hardware or software is needed, you just need to configure your browser to connect through it. Some ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) make all their users use a proxy server, for example in the United Arab Emirates, the main ISP makes all users use a proxy server which blocks sites with unsuitable material. It does this using the meta tags in the HTML code used to make the web page. Some ISP’s may give you a choice so you can use one or not. If you want to use a proxy server there are many around with different functions, you just have to get the one that suits your needs best.

I would check my internet speed. http://www.speedtest.net/ so you can check whether you are getting what you are paying for I would seek another ISP if you are still having bad connection

I think it might add more problem to your speed in a way. not to mention, it's not safe to log into your accounts using any proxies. probably using better and faster internet browsers with certain add-ons will help you.

Not sure if you are aware and or participate with other online earning sites, but some do not allow proxy IP . So something else to consider.
