Because of BPO, many people got job inspite of their qualification. After higher secondary school itself, students started to earn well. If students dont get job in their field, they joined in BPO. Anyone who are good in communication skill welcomed to join in BPO.
Apart from all these good things, there are many hidden bad things in BPO. Security for girls is still question mark, spoiling health by going in night shifts continuously. As young students earned 5 digit salary, they started to spend more and spent in bad things. They become more modernised. Spoiling our culture. Girls become too modernised.
What do you think. Is it boon or curse to India?

I definitely feel BPO is a curse on our younger generation. Money is not always everything and till a few years back, we Indians did not even know about BPOs…yet we survived! So why cant we survive now without these call centres which are nothing but shortcut to quick buck without any proper career plan. Security is of course a problem but even more problematic is the working hours, the work environment, job security, work standard and of course, the behavior of overseas clients. Most of them know that the jobs are outsourced to India, most of them resent that and so when they speak to somebody in India, they are more rude and throw racial abuses at us. Why should we allow our younger generation to tolerate such nonsense for a few thousands! Agreed it’s a five digit salary, but as you have rightly pointed out…at what cost? Just out of college freshers are trained for a few months and given the jobs but what happens to most of them after a few years? They are hired and fired at will, they tolerate abuses from foreigners, they work in night shifts and have all sorts of fast food which further wrecks their health…but do they really have a career in this? Is there any future? I think BPOs are just a very cheap way of exploiting our talented youth by dangling the carrot of money and MNC tag.

Yes. Your analyse is correct. For money many ignored their aim , health, everything. No achievements, no targets, just for money joining in call centers. In younger days. they might not realise the health problems. But later definitely will suffer.

yes i think bpo is a boon to some people and curse to someone. with bpo many of them has got jobs in india and their status has been improved, but continous night shifts is spoiling their health in a long run. intially, they dont think on these lines they are just attracted with the jobs and the money but later on we have to face a lot of health issues. so please take care.
