"The "intended closure" of Philippine Airlines’ airport services, in-flight catering, and call center reservation operations, the "employment severance" of its workers, and "the contracting out of these operations to the named service providers are based on lawful ground," the DOLE said. " [from http://ph.news.yahoo.com/gma/20100812/tph-pal-asks-dole-to-rule-on-legality-of-d6cd5cf.html where: PAL= Philippines Airlines, DOLE = Department of labor and employment & PALEA=PAL Employees Association It seems more and more employees from around the world will have to take note. - It seems outsourcing is cheaper and a lot simpler for "buyer" companies like PAL - Perhaps a good career option is to keep learning new skills that "service sellers" will need. It seems if my skill is too common, I get low pay... - We best focus on developing skills that we know we can do best and cheapest. What do you think?
