My neice lost about ten phones already. She even said one was broke just to get a new one. My sister is on disability and you know she bought her a new phone. Now she found out about her telling the lie about her phone. She will not get a new one if this one gets lost or breaks. How many phones can one person go through?

If I had a child, I would gladly get him or her a new phone if their story is worthy enough and if he or she learned how to be responsible. Other wise, I would wait until he or she was old enough to learn those things. Not really fair for a parent to keep buying a new one and giving their child something they need all the time. Teaches them that they can always get what they want when they want. When really, if you want something, you have to work for it. $-MrDollars-$

I myself have had only three phone out of which two are perfect till now..if she is so irresponsible to lose or spoil ten phones then i guess she should not be given a phone..if its an utter emergency then a really cheap and basic phone should be given to her..and no way is lying for a phone is acceptable!

May I ask how old is this child and what does she need the phone for if not just for emergencies. If she is old enough then she should be a bit more responsible. If it is so necessary that she must have a phone I would certainly get a really cheap one and or providers insurance so that it can be replaced easier. If it is not at all necessary then I have to say she should not get another let alone 10. Wow that is a lot of phones more than I am sure the mom has ever owned.

Your niece had more phones than I have :) If a person is really careful with his/her gadgets, it would last a lifetime :) I don't usually buy a new one unless my present phone really needs replacing. I'm somewhat sentimental about my things and I'm not fond of replacing them every time there's a new model available out in the market. Well it's about time your sis stops buying her daughter new units. Your niece ought to learn how to take care of her stuffs - or being responsible in general.
