I agree with him that many of the superstars simply failed to arrive at the big stage. But the fact also remains that a lot of young superstars also announced themselves at the big stage. The trend in this world cup was moving away from superstars to team work. Teams that gelled well went the furthest in this world cup.
Cheers!

i agree with MUFC manager..
Many superstars who are supposed to deliver have failed, some of them really rocked..
Nobody told that uruguay will be a semifinalist, but they rocked, players like saurez and forlan performed extremely well, nobody talked about them, they are concerned only about Cristiano Ronaldo , Kaka, Rooney and others, but all of them failed..
Well in Spain, each and every player did a good job..

i think you are right man....suarez and forlan is great players and supported with good tactics and supoort by all of his team. what about rooney, messi, etoo, c ronaldo and so on? they play like only they is in a team..they play as seems without their friend, they can do it...

Yeah I've read Sir Alex Ferguson's statement regarding the quality of the recent concluded World Cup. He said that too many teams and players play under best performance, isn't his team (Team England) included as one of those poor performing teams in the World Cup? They played poorer than what people especially its fans expected. As for Team Spain, its rather obvious because they are the world cup champions. They are the best team because they won. :)

The high expectation on the big teams lead to their failure. The world cup was a huge success and it was the lesser footballing nations that did well and springed some surprises. The players who had done really well in the previous season were under a huge amount of pressure to perform and also they was fatigue that creeped in. But teams that were tactically strong did well.

I don't think that the quality of WC was poor. We saw many tactical battles in the group stages, that is why were scored as few goals. Teams from Africa and Asia have evolved very much, they've got more tactical discipline and there were just a few weak teams at WC, North Korea for example. In my opinion there were lots of great matches, especially after the group stages. I cannot argue what one of the greatest trainers has said, but I have a different opinion.
