i like in louisiana but we didnt get it so bad. we only went about a week without lights and out house was still standing!

My parents were living in St Bernard, my Aunt in Meraux, my brother and his family were in Metairie, my finace and myself were in Metairie. I have a ton of friends who loss everything as well. Some due to the hurricane others due to apartment complexes screwing them over.
I think everyone in the area, even if the came away with no physical loss, has been hurt in some way by the storm.
Where are you living? After 4 long months in Texas, we decided to move back. Not sure that was a good idea, but at the time it seemed better than the 3 hour commute I faced every day driving into Houston.

My niece lived in New Orleans I think it was the 9th parish but I'm not sure. she went back recently and everything is gone, all torn down. She was 8 mo. pregnant at the time, we were very worried. Joanne and 17 others got out together, but it took them 3 days to get home to Illinois. We also had a nephew in Gulf Port, he was ok, but we didn't know this for several days. Till his brother went down and brought them all home. We were very lucky our loved ones were all ok. but some that came with joanne weren't so luck and they lost family members as well as everything else. My heart goes out to all of those who suffered.

Yeah,I lived in St.Bernard Parish.We got it worse than New Orleans.I had water in my house up to my roof.It's no good now.It has to be knocked down.I am still supposed to pay for that house,funny huh?Not gonna happen.Times are definitely too hard now, especially with kids.

I was in her path in Ocean Springs Ms A 21 ft wave at 11:28am I Have never seen anything like it, and I wont be here to save our neighborhood again with cars Boats, housessssssssss.piers,pets in carriers.Nothing left behind my home and we get the sewage backup.God made a damn long enough for us to move our cars and start breaking the damn to stop the water from going though the back of my home.God was with us from 2am monday aug 29 2005 till 7 pm that evening
