Live to the fullest.

Our life is a cycle. We were born, we give birth (or somehow become a parent) and our children will have their own, and life goes on and on and on. But how do we live life? The cycle is incomplete. We were reared by our parents, we were trained, we worked, we train, we work, we learn, we work, we eat, we work... but when do we enjoy life? Can you say that you are "enjoying life" if you are, yes, on vacation, but your mind is still hooked to the tons of undone or unfinished work at the office? Can you say that you are "enjoying life" when you are with your family but thinking about what will happen to them when you are gone? What would you want to mean when you say "I'm enjoying life"?

Yes, this cycle is complete for here on earth, but there is more after you die. Your soul either goes to Heaven or Hell. You go to Heaven if you have been "born again" or "saved". That is the way, God set us up. He made us and loves us. After we die, our physical bodies goes back to the dust. Our souls either go to Heaven or Hell, but that is our choice where we want to go. We have to ask forgiveness from God to be redeemed and to be saved. Then when we die we go to Heaven. I am enjoying life, even though I still have problems. I have been saved and I can go to God and ask him to take care of my problems and enjoy life. Life still has it's ups and downs and we still have problems, but I have the Lord in my life to take care of those problems. Yes, I too, have had those thoughts, but if you love your family as I know you do, you need to be saved and ask God to save them too. If you accept God in your life you can then prayer for them to be saved people. Then after you are gone and after they die took if they accept the Lord in their lives you will see them again at that appointed time, in Heaven. Of course, they still have to make the choice to accept the Lord or not. He don't' force himself on anyone. Then you can have the peace of mind, knowing you will meet them in Heaven when they die, but God is taking care of them at all times, even after you die. He is in control of all things, but you and your family will have to make that decision before you die. Heaven or Hell That is a lot of relief to me, knowing my family has been saved. That is the main purpose of life. It is not all about money. God is the one that sends that money and a good life. cricket10 cricket10

to enjoy life means to thank God that you are alive, healthy; that you are surrounded by love and you give love. you enjoy every little thing around you: nature, people, buildings. living life means doing what you want and like. not in a careless, lazy way. but being an energetic, active person.

That's a good insight, too. It's doing the real thing... doing things that bring change! Being productive can really be fun also.

It seems the definition of "living life to the fullest" may vary with different people. Perhaps a full life for most would be to have a lot and do everything that can be done and experienced in life. Though it seems if we truly observe ... it seems a full life is founded in giving and serving ... i.e. we are really measured by what we give back ... But then again perhaps it's not always true... What do you think?

I agree to what you said... "we are measured by what we give back", that holds true i believe....I myself am in awe every time i see people, more unfortunate than I am, but still they find joy in their simple day to day life. The sad thing is, most more accomplished and successful people when it comes to career and money are the ones who find it hard to live contentedly. They always feel empty. There is something missing in their heart.

Life is short, enjoying is, is not enough. you should share it with others. leave something for the next generations.

i wanna say that to enjoy life, we have to take it step by step. sometimes its good to say come what may, but sometimes life should be also organized in a way. To live life to the fullest for me is to take responsibilities and work on it while doing things that makes you happy on the side. :)

that's great ree_yah, i guess you are a fun loving person but still keep your sense of responsibility along. I can see my personality on you :-). Being responsible is being everything. I mean, you are the "captain of your ship" you maneuver your life, and therefore you are responsible for everything you do. If you succeed you celebrate, but if you fail you don't weep but you stand and start over again.

I often try to remember to live life and enjoy it. but sometimes I get caught up in all thats not going right, so I take time each day to reflect and see if i'm really enjoying the day and how tamke each one a better day. this topic just reminded me to see if i'm really having a good day and enjoying life. thank you for that, i'm now going to adjust accordingly and be sure that i am infact taking adequate advanatage of the time i wont be able to get back.

Perfect. We have to make the most of everyday. There are so many things to do, so many places to see, so many people to interact with.. yet we have so little time.

I don't think doing whatever you want means living life to it's fullest. For me it means being happy with what I have right now and trying to see the good in whatever situation I may be in at the time. Life does give us some knocks along the way but it's how we react to those situations and what we learn from them. In my younger days life was never good because I wanted things that I didn't need. Now that I'm older I realize they were like extra frosting on the cake, something I didn't really need. Life doesn't have to be extraordinary to be living it to it's fullest. For me each day is a good one when I wake and I know I have one more day to make someone smile or give a helping hand. I live each day to the fullest and then the rest of my life just falls into place. Things don't make an extraordinary life, actions do.

Hi casabuena, Yes, we all are in the cycle of life. We are born to accomplish as much as we can and when it is time for our journey on earth to end, we die. What we have or will accomplish was or will be totally up to us. Having a good life or enjoying life, is in the eye of the beholder. Someone who had no children or partner, who can do anything they want and go anyplace they want to go may testify that they are enjoying life. On the other hand a person who has the responsiblility of taking care of a home, a husband, and nuturing children could say that they are enjoying life. I think I am enjoying my life, because I have learned the importance of respecting my fellow citizens, young and old. My patience and tolerance of things and people that are different than I have increased with age. I have learned to nurture my soul by allowing myself peaceful frames of time each day to reflect on where I am, why I am where I am, if I want to stay where I am, and if not, what steps do I need to take to move from where I am. I am enjoying life, because I don't let negative situations determine the rest of my life. Sure, I have situations that I would rather not have but, when they come, I challenge THEM the take me down. They never win.

To get the most enjoyment from life we have to live it as fully as we can. If we take anything for granted, we lose appreciation for the finer gifts we have. Each day should be a celebration of life and we should appreciaate each moment. Living life to its fullest potential is the best thing w can do.

i can say i am enjoying life. enjoying life for me involves different emotions, because it will only stay boring if it's all fun, fun, fun...what makes one appreciate happiness is sadness and vice versa. so i think we need all these emotions to enjoy life. =)

A little vacation would not be enough for me to be enjoying my life. We might have different outlook on life but for me, I do enjoy and satisfied with the thought that I am capable of surviving in life's adversities. Many people have very low coping mechanisms to stress and they could never make a way to somehow lessen their misery. As for me, continuous learning or growing in knowledge is the best way to enjoy life. There are many types of people: some are family oriented and some are goal oriented. For this reason, people have different object/standard of happiness. Other aspects: religion, practices, culture and tradition.

I'm enjoying my life... thinking that there are many people out there who's life are really miserable than mine but yet they can still smile. Life is really boring if you would see it that way. I've been trying to cherish every minute that passes by because I'm thinking that there are many bedridden and cancer patients who are longing to extend their life so they can still be together with their love ones. I'm happy though it's so boring to live a life in routine. The reason why is that I'm happy to see my kids grow and take care of them, contentment and satisfaction for what you have is the key to happiness...
