Are you good with directions? Yesterday I had to take my son to Montifiore Hospital to get a hard cast for his broken wrist. So let me tell you my ordeal: I made the appointment Wednesday and the woman I spoke to gave me directions to the hospital but it was the wrong building. You see, the hospital has several different hospitals for different situations and the one I had to go to was way on the other side of town. I have always been bad with directions so when I called the hospital to double-check on the address that is when I found out that I was way off course and became really nervous because I didn't know how to get to the hospital I needed to be at. I ended up taking a $10 cab to the hospital that I needed to be and I am so thankful that I had the cab fare because had I not had the money I would've really cried. My son got his cast and everything is okay now but let me ask: How are you with directions? Are you like a human gps or are you like me, who can't direct someone to the corner? Thanks for sharing and God bless!

I am sorry that you had to go to so much trouble that day and yes I would have been so grateful to have enough money for a taxi. I am not very good with directions either. It would take me awhile to remember which way to go to get somewhere. $-MrDollars-$

I am not so good when it comes to directions. When I drive to unfamiliar places, it gives me goosebumps when I start getting lost. I always ask for directions from people in the community.

(Laughs) Very funny, Linda4always! Anyway, I am good with directions. But when I have found I am lost, I always remember my parents' advice and ask for assistance: My parents always told me that, one cannot be lost if one can ask for assistance.

I'm great with directions. At times I do need a GPS if I'm going far, like into another state. But if I'm driving or walking or any type of transportation I just need to travel to my destination only once. From then on I'll always remember how to get there and give directions there. My advice to anyone who is bad with directions when travelling is to remember certain street names and make obvious landmarks that you will remember.

I am usually very good with directions. When I go to a new place, I try to remember something unique or some landmark, so that the next time I go, I can remember it. I love looking at map and well, mapping the route to take, etc. When I am in the UK, I always look at the map first (at least before the GPS were used). I also used internet, I searched for the best route to take and take the print out with me - sometimes I print them out and forget to take the print outs I suggest you make use of internet and the vast knowledge that you could get from a map. There must be a website where you can plan the route (I use theaa.com for UK).
