there's nothing wrong with liking all sorts of music. to each their own they say, so that applies for music tastes as well. after all it's your decision what you like and wanna listen to and not your friends'. You might not like the music they listen too, but you don't go make fun of them, right? so they shouldn't either. I also love oldies a lot more than music nowadays. In fact I think old music has deeper meanings, better beats, and more talented vocal artists than we have nowadays, so if I hear someone tell me I listen to crap music, I'd say to them that it can't be crappier than music nowadays they listen to. so, don't worry about others, listen to what you like and what you feel like listening to, don't go changing your taste, because your friends want you to.

i listen to just about anyt5hing that comes across the radio. I mainly will listen to a song if the beat catches my attention. I dont think there's anything wrong with bieng eclectic at all! :) although i do understand about your friends sayin theres something wrong with you, cause my friends do the same thing. If they only listen to a certain genre they think im nuts for liking something different. :)

People seem to think that the norm or to go with the crowed is the best way to go. I think to be your self and make your own digestions is the best way to go. Be your self.

Hi ladybugr2d2 Why should you care what other people say about how you like your music? I am very much older than my daughter and can you imagine what songs I like to hear. Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, Engelbert Humperdink such oldies but goodies music. When you enjoy listening to your music, it doesn't matter as long as you are not disturbing others.

A true music lover understands that music is a form of expression. It is a language like any other. Music is used to communicate like any language. Listening to many musical genres allows one to enter into foreign realms of expression of many individuals and cultures. Appreciating all musics reflects one's personal artistic understanding as well as helping one to understand people and cultures in general. At least i think so.

I agree. I think you can learn a lot about a person by the music they listen to and a lot a bout the person who wrote the music and even about there cloture.

Nah, it's YOUR taste of music man. So it should only matter to you. Most of my friends listen to hip hop and mainstream pop, which is kind of annoying. I listen to many types of music such as oldies, rock, rap, and even foreign and I always find something I like about it. If you feel the same way, keep doing what you're doing. All that matters is that YOU like your music.

You listen to all kinds of music - this means you have much wider view angle in music than other people. I've always found hating a genre pointless, because you can find good stuff from everywhere, if you just constentrate and search. There's definitely NOTHING wrong with you :).

No, nothing wrong at all. I am like you too. I like all kinds of music, music from my country, and also music from other countries and cultures. Each and every music has its own value and essence. I always enjoy the oldies. When I travel to foreign countries, I buy CDs of music and songs of those countries. I have a huge collection of music CDs now.
