Francis Bacon talked about boldness in his essays(follow the format of Bacon's writing): Boldness is the child of ignorance and baseness. It is ever blind,it sees not dangerous, and inconviniences. Then it is ill in counsel, good in excution. So the right use of the bold peoples is, that they never command in chief, but be seconds, under the direction of others. What is your opinion?

If I'm understanding this correctly then I don't agree. I think it takes a great deal of boldness to make a good leader and that those are the people who need to be in command. I don't think boldness comes from ignorance either. I think people are bold because they know the truth or some form of it.

My personal opinion is that it takes a lot to stand up for yourself and when people stand up for others, that is definitely worth respecting, being diplomatic is only for the top caders, because the people who are bold and the ones who are awake in the night gaurding our borders, so we can get a goodnight sleep. Being bold is not the same as being reckless. It is so sad to see bravery being mentioned in the same like as ignoreance and blindness. For the cowards and diplomats need something to hide behinds and hence are underrating boldness and bravery.
