Never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. God may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing. You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.

Things that we have long since thought were impossible have been done in the past. Therefore, while certain things may seem impossible, it could be just that there is no one who is able to figure out a way to do it. The right person has not come along. Unfortunately, perhaps that right person is discouraged. Self esteem can take a huge hit when people tell you that things cannot be done. I think that young people should be encouraged. If they fall flat on their face, they might have at least gained valuable knowledge. As it it is nothing life threatening, then what's the harm in trying. If they get it in their heads from a young age that they are unable to do anything, then they live a stagnent and quite sterile life where nothing can be done.

I agree with you to the extent that if you tell a young person that he cannot do something,he'll take it as a challenge and accomplish it.But when you say God may have been waiting for centuries for someone ignorant enough of the impossible to do that very thing it sounds as if only an ignorant person is foolhardy enough to attempt such a task. The last sentence seems to convey that we are all special in our own way and we can do something if we set our mind to it.I seem to see a contradiction in each of these sentences.
