When you go to a store,do you like it when every employee says something to you?Or would you rather them just be there when you need them for something?

I really appreciate a responsive customer service. It is pleasing when they are attentive to customers in need. But I also don't like being crowded to the point that I get distracted away from my goal. There is this huge toy store that my kids frequent and I like it too. My problem is when my children start looking for the toy that they went there for, 1 or 2 salespersons will start pushing their merchandise to them. The kids would get so distracted with these people making them hold these toys while giving a demo at the same time. There were times when my children ended up bringing home a toy they don't really like. Oh well, I guess that's their job and we're supposed to understand. But one time, I told them nicely to allow my children to look around and check all the toy racks so that they can enjoy their visit to the toy store.

Well for me I don't like it when they are watching my every move and they keep following me also that's why I never go into stores that are empty because I know that they will bug me. I rather just have them there and I will go to them if I need help on something. I don't really mind if I go to a store and they say welcome to our store or something like that as long as I can shop at peace then I ill be comfortable and happy. I know that the employees are just doing their jobs and very good for them it's just that I can't take it sometimes and I don't know if I'm the only one, but yeah I'm not like my mom who loves that employees always try to help her for me it's to overwhelming and uncomfortable because I'm sure that when were all shopping we always try to find what we want alone pretty much. Anyway your question really made me think on how I feel about this and now I know how I truly feel, have a nice day now and happy mylotting. ANIME123 is out to go more mylotting and shopping because it's fun.

Perhaps not every employee but if I come face to face and have eye contact with an employee then I think for them to acknowledge me with a pleasantry is very nice and raises my impression of the staff.

Hi oneidmnster, It doesn't bother me. They are just doing their job and were probably all trained to greet the customer and at least offer assistance. It's all ok. It only takes a second to let them know that I'm just browsing .

I think it'd be okay as long as there weren't too many employees! Haha. If I was overloaded by 'do you need help?' or 'would you like me to help you find a size?' or 'do you want to try this product?' Almost every five seconds I might go a little insane, I think I would just much rather have an employee who is just there in case we need to talk to them.

I don't mind if the employee says greeting or asks whether I need any help. because I know it is their job to serve the customer. but if the employee has just stood right there, kept watching me and kept following me wherever I walked inside the store, that somehow brings me the chill. :/

I do think it's nice when employees are very helpful to their customers. It makes me feel that I can go back to a store and that it's worth going to a business when they actually try to help you.
