What if you were to find out that you are adopted?

Would you blame your parents for the lie, or thank them that they took care of you?

I would surely be shocked at first, but I don't think I'd blame them in the end. They always took good care of me. But I think I'd begin to wonder who my real parents were and why they left me.

Well it would explain everything. My mom and I are nothing alike. I wouldn't mind at all, by this point I don't think I would even care who my real parents are. I wouldn't be able to find them anyway, they'd be in Russia.

First thing that I would do is hug my foster parents and thank them for taking care of me and giving me a chance to live my life and next thing is I will find who my parents were and have a long chat with them. Knowing who my real parents are will make me feel complete as a being.

There must be somebody who takes care of. Who takes care is not the criteria and how they take care is important. Adopted parents usually take more care and shower more love than the original parents because wantenly they adopt. At the same time the original parents give their child for adoption due to some crisis, thinking their child will have a good future compared to their family. Hence there is nothing to blame anybody. Everthing is done for the sake of child and the child cannot blame anybody.

I am adopted. My mother was a single mom when she met my adoptive father. He gave me his name. My sister was adopted when my mother gave birth to her. We have since been reunited.

i put this question because many children when they find out they blame the adoptive parents for the lie i do not think that is fair to them

I will thank them because the one who brings you is always bigger than who give you birth.

I would be a bit angry at first, wondering why I was never told... then I would get over it and be grateful that I was taken care of

I think both. It'll be very upsetting to find out they lied to you for years, but they did took care of me this years so I kinda owe them my life.

Why would i blame my adoptive parents for adopting me? If i were adopted then i would certainly thank them for the kindness and love they have showered me all through my life. Only unselfish and down to earth people adopt kids from the orphanage. They want to share their love with kids who are not their own. They should be praised and not blamed. Most of the time they don't tell their kids that they adopted them because they don't see you as someone's kid. The minute they adopt you, you are their kid and that is it.
