What do you do to get more Youtube Viewers And Subscribers?

I have a friend who called me and asked me how to get his UFO video to go viral. It's a pretty good trailer but I told him that you can't make a video go viral. Videos are go viral based on users liking them. But I did tell him that there are some ethical ways to gain more subscribers and views without getting banned from YouTube.
What tactics do you use to get more viewers and subscribers?

I just keep uploading videos and making more of them. I don't try to ask people to subscribe to me because it's silly to ask people to do it when they will or they won't, the fact that people like my videos surprises me.

YouTube is becoming the huge superstar maker. To get hook in a YouTube account, one has to put great talent. Most people look at great talent that awaits discovery.
