Is another olympic games movement necessary?

The pages of history has just been rewritten, Singapore 2010 has just been declared Open by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr S.R. Nathan. The Youth Olympics games is an international multi sports event held every 4 years for aspiring athletes between the ages of 14 and 18. The theme "Learning to know, learning to be, learning to do and learning to live together" are some of the values the participants, the youths of the world will get to experience. This is the admirable journey of the inaugural Youth Olympics Games, brain child of Mr Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee. When asked recently at a press conference, he said feeling like a father in the delivery room. 1. In 2007: along with Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Poland, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Singapore submitted her bid to host the inaugural 2010 Games. 2. Nov 2007: Singapore was shortlisted along with Thailand, Russia, Greece and Italy. 3. Dec 2007: A team of top-ranking IOC officials visited Singapore. 4. Jan 2008: Russia and Singapore were shortlisted. 5. 2008: Singapore won the bid. And preparations started with an estimated cost of S$387 million to host 3600 athletes, 800 media representatives, 20,000 volunteers, 19 competition venues, 7 training venues, all within 30-minute bus ride from the Games Village at Nanyang Technological University. 6. 23 Jul 2010: Lighting of the Olympic Flame in Greece and has since traveled across 5 continents via Berlin, Dakar, Mexico City, Auckland, Seoul before arriving in Singapore for a 6-day torch relay. 7. 14 Aug 2010: Blazing The Trail, The Olympic Flame lighted the 'Light House' of the Marina Bay floating platform in the Opening Ceremony and will remain lighted throughout the competition till 26 Aug 2010. 8. 26 Aug 2010: The Closing Ceremony of Singapore 2010. http://www.olympic.org/en/content/YOG/ As Singapore welcomes the world, I wish each and every athlete good luck in his/her endeavor for the gold medal and continue to contribute positively in his/her society. I hope these youths would continue to shine because they are our future leaders. My question is: Do you think it's worth spending so much for a youth olympiade when the world already have an olympic games movement?
