sixth finger

Hi friends! Yesterday I meet my school friend. We haven't met for long days. He once had six fingers in his right hand. When I looked his hand, I was shocked to see that it was not there. When I asked him about that he explained that the finger had disturbed him a lot (he can't write his exam fast!!!!), so he operated and removed it. I thought that he is a fool. If I had an extra finger, I wouldn't remove it! Do you have any extra finger? Will you remove you finger?

Interesting! I've met people with less fingers (they were either born that way or lost it/them in an accident) - but never with more! Well, it's your friend's body - if he was uncomfortable with it or that it was hindering from leading a normal life (if he couldn't write fast, he probably couldn't do other things either) - then he probably thought it was in his best interest to have it removed. And maybe I would have done the same, I don't know. If it was just a cosmetic issue, I probably would not. I have the normal number of fingers and toes . . . but both my feet had a big, bony type bunions near the pinkie toes from figure skating. A few of my friends had it also and we used to joke that it was our "sixth" toe. It finally went away after a couple years - and I'm glad!

I think I should have said missing digits (part of a finger). Like my language school kindergarten teacher had a missing thumb, my co-worker had part of his pointer finger severed (my dad did that too), a client had 3 of his fingers severed due to a sawing accident . . . people like that!

Hello imready, a double thumb, right? I know a friend who has one. It was his choice so he did that, anyways.. I would do that too if i had that on my right hand, coz that would start to trouble me too.

Thank you, same to you.. I might not have removed if it was on my left hand. It depends on oneself.

I think I would remove it too. First of all, I think it can - like your friend says - sometimes be disturbing for things like writing. I also wouldn't like it that people would be staring at it all the time. Some people do that, and are even afraid to shake hands. I don't have a problem with people having a sixth finger, but I don't think I would like it myself.

Friend i don't have sixth finger but when i was studying 5th standard then one of my teacher was having that finger but our side we believe that if a person having sixth finger then that person is a lucky person. I don't know whether it is right or wrong. But still when i meet my teacher then i use to talk with them. Still they have that sixth finger now thier age is around more than 50 age.

Actually,if the sixth finger does not bring trouble with human,it is no use to remove the finger out of one's hand. The sixth finger is a gift that the god give the human.

I have six fingers on both my hands and have not yet removed it. When I was a child and all other children would make fun of it, I used to think of removing it. But now that I am grown up I don't mind it. I did not get it removed because of my parents. They thought it was lucky for me and never let me remove it.

I don't have extra finger. If I had sixth finger, I would remove it because it could be quite disturbing. Because this is something not normal and others will look at your differently. It is not comfortable to look at others' shocking stares. I prefer to be as normal as other people. I love China

Having a sixth finger is not considered normal. Aesthetically speaking, it is not pleasing to one's eyes. I guess in your friend's case, it was more of a bothersome than how pleasing it would look that prompted him to have it removed. If it is more convenient to anyone have something operated, then one can do so.

If it works just as well it would be an asset. Besides aren't you special to have an extra finger? Why should anyone remove that?

Personally, I don't have any sixth finer. But if God will give me sixth finger I will remove it because it is a gift from God. God said, in everything give thanks. I do believe that God has a plan why he let me have sixth finger. Don't you want that, you have six finger, and other do have 5. then you are blessed enough.

I had a friend who had an extra thumb on each hand and his parents had them removed when he was a baby. I think if it was me I would remove it. I don't like to have people looking at me and I think an extra finger would probably increase the amount of attention I got.
