Anyone who watches this teleserye? I usually go home late night since my classes ends at 9 so I always run back home to catch this series. The ending of Rubi was (spoiler) Hector died from falling with Rubi from the third floor of an abandoned building because he was trying to save Rubi when he accidentally pushed her. Fortunately, Rubi lives but lost her leg and scarred her face. Because Rubi truly changed her personality and her goals in life, everyone, including her sworn enemy, Sylvanna and Maribel, had loved her and accepted her. She was taken care of by her aunt who had a baby and Maribel treats her like a sister and told her she was pregnant. My alternative ending: I wish Hector didn't die. True his is madly in love with Rubi but it would be great if he would also change from obsessive to understanding. It would be better if he was just paralyzed, and get hospitalized taken care by Rubi 24/7 and realize that Rubi really loves him and not Alejandro. At least that ending wouldn't be sad for Rubi who wanted to change since she realized that she has to get a real life one day for her own family. Anyway, I'll just dream of that ending in dreamland because the series ended. That was the best television drama series I ever watched since all of the actors and actresses were great and the story line was original and clever.

I watched rubi before and I thought it was interesting but thank goodness I discovered it wasnt interesting at all cause it was just the same as the typical Filipino teleserye and there's nothing new about it so why should I care. Anyway, I am just glad that its over now. I also dont care how it ended. All I know is that it was really boring and too predictable!

True it's predictable but unlike all teleserye, the series' main character was the antagonist and protagonist at the same time. Anyway, I just like Rubi compared to the other teleserye I saw on television since it was critical to the creators to make it natural and realistic. Some teleserye are repetitive and corny.

Im an avid viewer of Rubi and I can say that it is a good teleserye. You are going to love and hate her character. For me, the ending was so sad. I don't want Hector to die. I don't like how the story ends, it is so tragic. It is good if Hector lives and both of them try to build up their family again. But that's the way the director wants it to end. Atleast there is a moral value that you can get in the end of the story. I like Diether who played the role of Hector, he is impressive. It is hard to act as a psychotic. To Angelica, thumbs up!!

Yes, I agree that Diether and Angelica did a great job. It's just it would make avid fans to feel better if there was a good ending. But it does sound corny and typical if Diether lives and they changed their life and rebuild their family.

I expected that the ending of this teleserye is tragic because the original production has an ending which is tragic as well. However, the difference between the Philippine and the Mexican version is pretty apparent because the Philippine Version has a more optimistic tone to its ending with Rubi being happy and changed despite being crippled and scarred while in the Mexican Version, Rubi is still seeking for revenge at the end. I actually liked the Philippine ending more because it has a moral story and I really liked this story because unlike the teleseryes showing right now where there is clearly a protagonist, Rubi showed us that a story can still be told without using the usual soap opera formula which involves a bida vs. contrabida style.

i am also one of the avid viewers of Rubi. The story f interesting and I get to watch it often. Like you, I didn't like the ending that much and hoped for a better one. I hoped that Hector didn't die. It was a sad ending. It wasn't happy at all. Because the main star, Rubi was left alone without a family, I mean her husband. Well, it ended that way so be it. The director knows what's best for the series, that's why I think he made it that way.

I'm glad someone would want Hector to live just like me. But I guess if Hector did live, it would be a typical happy ending like most tv series. So I guess the director really does know what's best.

Oh i have never watched the spanish version of this series but i did follow rubi from start to its end. i especially hurriedly went home to catch the last week! (even if i knew it would be posted in the iwantv link provided by ABS for bayantel users. Anyway.. i would agree with your suggested Ending. I think it would be great if Hector did not die, and that Rubi did not lose her leg and beauty... it defeats the purpose of her being the beautiful one, glamorous, etc. It should have been better if Hector would be the one that Rubi needs to take care of.. because that way she would show how much she's changed and she'd be able to pay hector back of her being unfaithful once... oh well...
