Good adviser but not a follower?

One of my friend told me that she wasn't feeling like studying these days and exams are coming up. I told her that if she thinks she doesn't feel like it she wouldn't but if she forced herself to take a book and study, after a while she will get into it. Also, i gave tips on how to start up and told her lots of good stuff like-one should study, you shouldn't think like that, cheer up and lots of other good sounding stuff but then i thought of myself and how much have i studied? How many time have i tried out those tips? Then i realized that most of the time people are good at advising but not at following. Like when you see your younger siblings playing around you tell them to study but how much time do you yourself study? You must have given very good advice, some which you yourself don't follow all the time. Tell me about it.

Not good enough i think! I you think you are a good adviser then you should also be a good follower. As the song say, practice what you preach. And a question about studying is something that you dont need to solicit answer for cause you already know the answer and you need to do it whether you like it or not.

Yes. But at times there are just so many distraction around that i can't bring my self to sit down and study. But once i get my head into it i don't get distracted easily.

I know a lot of people like this. Says a lot of things but don't follow them. I only give advice if it's really needed or if I feel like it and I always think about the decisions available and step in to their shoes as if I'm making the decision myself for me not to lose credibility for myself.
