How Much Do You Trust Your Bestfriend?

I am throwing this question because I just remembered a case about bestfriends. Well there were these 2 beautiful girls who went to high school together the other one the golden girl, coming from a wealthy family, great looks and a happy family life, the other one was from a middle class family. They both got married the golden girl married a well to do chip of the old block physician whose father owned a hospital. The other one married a wealthy financier. It was the middle class girl who introduced the hot shot physician to the golden girl.
After marriage both couples were in on everything together, the financier joined the physician in a medical venture and opened and HMO type of facility in addition to the hospital. To make the story short, the golden girl and her hot shot physician husband had a pretty bad argument when she discovered that he had an affair with one of the nurses in the hospital. she drove to their vacation home and stayed there for a week. When she came back home one evening she directly went to her husband's sudy and she found her dead. She tried to revive him and that was all she remembered. The housekeeper was in shock when found the lady of the house waking up with blood on her face and when she also found that the man of the house was dead. The golden girl had no more memory what happened after she tried to revive her husband.
She was convicted of guilt but to manslaughter not to murder and spent 5 years in prison. When she got out she was determined to find out the truth although everyone thought of her as the murderer. Thanks to her lawyer and a long time highschool friend now an investigative reporter the real truth was uncovered. Her husband did not only have an affair with the nurse but with her bestfriend as well. It was her bestfriend who killed her husband though accidentally on the night she returned home. But she got blamed everything and spent 5 and a half years in prison for a crime she never committed.
What would you do if your bestfriend betrayed you like this? How much do you trust your bestfriend?

I do have a best girlfriend, but I will not say what she will never do. People are full of surprises.
This really sound like the plot of a movie I have seen,except it was the sister who was guilty. Of course, the truth only came out when the convicted girl did time and was then releassed from prison. She too, was determined to find out who was really the guilty person(s). Surprise, surprise, her very own sister had made her life almost unbearable for many years.
Life is full of surprises. Best friends are only human, they make choices that you would never expect them to make, like sleeping with the best girlfriend's partner, or in this case husband and then allowing her friend to be convictd of the crime of murdering her own husband. Why? Was she affraid of going to prison? Possibly, but what about the fears of the innocent friend? Was she ever really her friend?
We can never say what another person will or will not do. Sometimes choices are made in split seconds and the resulting consequences are devastating. Even though the friend was fortunate enough to find the real guilty person, she will probably never trust anyone completely again.

You are right people are full of surprises. This one though happened in real life of people I know but I am not in liberty to discuss further about the case or even speak of their names. But yes even those closes to you can betray you. I believe I read it somewhere in David's Psalm when he agonized over a friend betraying him and how they dined at his table together and he said it would have been easier if he were an enemy but he was his friend and it was painful. Betrayal from some one so close will always hurt.

Hi Candy,
Betrayal in any form for anyone will hurt, but from a friend, that could ruin a friendship forever. We hav eto find room in our heart to forgive, even if we don't forget or remain friends.

This is a awful story. I don't know why the girl that killed the man did not come forth and say she did it instead of letting her friend go to jail for something she did nto do. I just could not do that.
Some people just do not kow how to be a good friend. They betray the ones that trust them.
I have been done wrong by a "best friend" that's as far as I will go at this time about that.
I am the kind of person that when you are a friend I am loyal, very much so. I will not do anyone wrong.
I trust people as far as they let me trust them and each individual is different.

The only angle I think that she did not come forth first is that she was afraid to do jail time, next she did not want a scandal hounding her re: coveting her bestfriend's husband and third she is afraid of her very own husband who being a known financier is also known to have been cold blooded. So those were the reason why she did what she had to do to save herself the embarrassment and the ridicule.

I trust my best friend with my life.
I've told him things that I would only tell my wife, he doesn't judge me at all and is always there as a good friend should. He's really very similar to how I am which is pretty rare to find it my opinion, I like being able to approach someone else other than my wife knowing that I can trust him without things being mentioned elsewhere.
Trust is a very bad thing into days world, as most people tend to tell someone else and then things spread. I hate gossip :)

ohh god :( if someone did this to me i would beat her up i guess. she was so so mean how could she do this? that girl trusted her :( thats a big fake person. i also had a bestfriend before tht really cared for me and then stopped care so much and even doubted about my word when i said i didnt do something he doubted about my word bcs girl that said that was girl he loved :( now him and her are talking happy and me im the one who was treated like a stupid liar :(

i trust my best friend with my life, so i don't really believe that she can do that to me. If "hypothetically" she had an affair with my husband, i think she'll come clean with me one day. Besides i can read her so i can tell whether she's hiding something from me or not. But i can really say that my best friend will never betray me.

people say that your best friend could either be your best ally or your worst enemy. I believe in it. If it meant being out of harm's way for her own good even friendship could be looked over for personal gain....so the adage trust no one ...

I haven't really got one friend right now, whom i can trust my life with. I think whoever finds a friend that they believe would do anything for them, a friend that would always be there for them, a friend that is worth anything to you, like a brother or a sister then that person is lucky. I mean, for me in my 29 years of life... i'd say i have met people, made friends with them... but not 1 as of this time can i say is worth my trust as much as i would want to give it. I really wish to have such a good friend, who would not judge me, would not belittle me, and would take me for what i am.

I think we should ensure that when we say someone is our best friend, that that person feels the same way. Sometimes we say this person is our best friend and he or she has a different best friend that's when you know that the things you would do for this person, he or she wouldn't do for you. It's very hard to trustto a certain extent when you've had some bad experiences.

Hello candy,
I don't know, have a friend and though and hadn't talked that much for a while, but certainly i don't have a best friend. if there is one thing in this world is that change is permanent. no friends last forever.
I have watch an episode on cheat. her bf have cheated on her best friend. when they got busted, the best friend reiterated how she make out with the guy on a bar. her ex bf has a child and the women was cheated on to is actually motherlike person. she still loves her bestfriend but she's really in love with her bf. she decided to leave with him, leaving the girl crying.
Permanent is change. it's a blessing if you have a bestfriend that can last for more than a decade.

I actually trust both of my best friends with my life. The reason that I have two best friends is because I've got my best friend from childhood, but we aren't able to communicate as regularly anymore because she lives far away and has her hands full with her five children and I've got my best friend that lives here in town. I am able to share everything in my life with both of them and I know that neither of them would go behind my back or betray me.

A best friend can be the most most trusted person in our lives. A best friend is someone to share both the good times and the bad ones with. My best friend has been with me all of their life. It is my sister. She is more than just a sibling. She is the one i share all of my dreaams and my sorrows with. If i were to be betrayed by my best friend, it would be like a knife through my heart. It would break the bonds of trust to lose a best friend. I hope that this never happens. It would just break my heart.

I have a lot of friends but i do not have a bestfriend. i hardly to trust someone that i just know for awhile. i will never trust her/him again if i have a bestfriend as you mention above.

I can't accept that my bestfriend do things like this to me. But I can honestly say I trust my best friend with my life. I am lucky our relationship haven't become badly. We have a big group of friends. I never really had one "best friend". It was more of a group friends. I think it's cool to have one person you can share everything.

My best friend and I had a lot of ups and downs in our relationship and some of the things she did behind my back really shocked me, though I won't go into any details out of respect for the fact that she passed away a couple of years ago. I currently have one close friend who ironically I met just a few months ago, but she has been like a sister to me and is the only person my daughter feels perfectly comfortable with. Though I have not known her long, I do trust her a lot. She has proven herself to be a true friend and I know I would never do anything to hurt her. One thing that has always been with any of my friends: boyfriends, spouses, even ex's are OFF LIMITS! There is no reason to even start something like that knowing the other person is with someone you say you love and care for.

In fact the friendship is a big meaning.
if you have good friend this is a big value, so the true friend will be as your brother.
Omar Ibn Al khatab said: after he asked about a man and some one told him that man is his friend.
are you travel with him, are you borrow things of him, are you relate with him by money. the man said no.
then ibn al khatab told him you do not know him.
these rules will make the real friend.

I feel as if i can trust my best friend with my life. He really is the only that i can trust to keep a secret I tell him. Some people act as if there your friend just to stab you in the back or, to get closer to someone or something. That's one reason you cant give just anyone that title you have to choose your best friend like you choose a car. Have to pick something you want to stick with and that is reliable. When all the fake friends are gone i promise your best friend will still be the one by your side.
