Actually Indian team always had some good left hand batsmans on the top 3.
in the past it was saurav ganguly.
after that gautam gambir came and played consistently.
and yuvi was also coming just on 4th position, so the left hand right combination was goiung there, actually its tough for fielding side to adjust for left right combination, which is a reason for good partnership.
but current indian team dont have left hander on the top, thats why we lost wickets on top order as a bunch, Raina comes only at no:4.
as yuvi is not playing well, Raina is the only quality left hander in current indian team, that has really made the partnership on the top order a worst one.
so a quality left hander on the top3 is really missing!
what do you think??

Ya,its a good point.
India needs more left handed batsmen.
Now India is missing Gambir, also yuvi.
Only Raina is the good left handed batsmen in the team.
If left hand -right hand combination comes, then its a tuff situatuon for the opposition team.
if gambir comes, then the top oder will be all right
Any way instead of yuvi India should find a good left hand batsmen or yuvi should find his form back.

Yes you are right venkit but Karthik will open the innings for a while because Gautham Gambhir is injured and he might return to team as soon as possible. But if a batsmen is quality one then which hand does not matter. I feel Virat Kohli is not right choice at No 3 and neither Rohit Sharma. So, that slot need a good player who can attack if the target is huge and defend if any opener gets out very soon. So, Indian team management has to seriously think of only one player always instead of shuffle them frequently. So, my choice would be Rohit Sharma and he should be given chance at that spot for atleast some 6 tournaments or so. Indian team tried with Raina and then with Virat, etc. This experimenting at No 3 is not a good idea in any format of cricket in my view. Team tank was seriously think about some spots very carefully because World Cup is not much far away.

Its just another victory that India needs to put them back on place.

i dont think just another victory will solve this problem.
India need to work out this problem and force raina to come up front, but if he comes front then the middle order will struggle.
so soe one like jadeja should take the challenge and bat at no:3.

Thats a good point mate, when opening partnership or two batsman playing are right and left handed ,any bowler how good he can be finds it difficult to adjust line and length , Sachin and Gaunguly when opened for India were successful because of this factor too along with their dedication and talent.Similar is the case with Sehwag and Gambhir, and they normally rotate the strike frequently causing more problems for bowlers bowling to them.We are missing Gambhir (solid left hand batsman) in opening slot .

not only in opening,
its also happening whenit comes down in the prder also.
the current team has Raina as the only solid left hander.
in yesterdays match india lost 3 quick wickets on top, its because there was no left hander on top.
when raina the left hander came the innings became steady.
