In your situation, would you commit the same. If you hit somebody's car by accident, would you wait for that person and exchange Insurance information or wait for the police? Or you rather ran away to avoid such responsibility?
My father parked his car in the shopping center parking lot while he was in the supermarket doing some shopping. When he came out, there was a big dent in the bumper. The perpetrator nowhere to be found, and my father have to call the police and file a report. We have to make an appointment with the insurance to the damage estimate.
There were so many people do things irresponsible. I hope that they will encounter the same situation.

My friend accidently hit somesone's car abd she could not wait (she had waited over two hours). What she ended up doing was writing a letter stating what happened and left her cell phone number. The other party appreciated my friend's honesty and they settled it out of court. The insurance company took care of everything.

At least she is an honest one. She would take up her responsibility and admit that her fault. But most people won't do the same though. It just scary as it seems.

I was on my way to drivers training - years ago, and I was pulling out of a parking lot. This was at the beach so there was no way possible to find the owner of the vehicle and we were in a hurry. I left our names, numbers and info, also there was a witness that saw what happened, I got his name and number. The owner of the vehicle never called so I guess there really wasnt much damage but I atleast gave him the option. I would never just leave the scene.
