Starting My New Blog

I am really really confused as to how to get along with my new blog. I think adsense might ban my account as I had used free traffic exchange programs before. I don't want to continue with the same account as they might say its banned or something like that when I reach the $100 mark. What should I do? I am thinking of leaving Google Adsense for good.
Wordspress does not have a monetize option I heard? What's the use then for me? But I heard that there is something like plugin? What is a plugin? And how to use it? Please can anyone help?
Or should I go on to start my own website? That may be a little costly to start with. My friend is developing his website and there I see google ads too. If the same happens to me, when I quit google I might lose out on the earnings there? Hmm, difficult to figure out now. Please help me - blog - exactly where with monetizing or website?

You can make your own website a blog if you choose to by installing wordpress, and this is not difficult to do. You will need a web host that gives PHP and MySQL (two free host suggestions are freehostia.com and 0fees.net). Wordpress is written in the PHP web scripting language, and MySQL are databases.
a Plugin is just extra scripting code, and used to add something extra to a website.
