What do you think of my dream?

There have been lots of posts about dreams. I was quite hesitant to post this initially but I thought, no harm done, dreams differ, so why not. My late father had been dead for a good five years now. Although I've learnt to move on that doesn't mean I do not remember him. As a matter of fact I do and love him and remember him more. A few nights before I dreamed meeting my dad, the same usual person he looked. You would say I was thinking alot about him before bed which I didn't. Or perhaps I did subconsciously. To think that was the first dream I had after all these years was what actually prompted me to post here. So, apparently he brought me to see where he lived. And where he lived wasn't what I would consider a home. And that woken me up! What do you think of all these? And thanks my fellow myLotters.

Well as far as I am concerned, dreams carry no meaning. Dream investigators have found that sleep is a progressive process that is deepest in the first few hours and then becomes lighter later on. Dreaming occurs especially during periods of rapid eye movement, called REM sleep. This alternates with non-REM sleep. To know more you can try this site which has satisfying information and answers. http://www.watchtower.org/e/19961001/article_01.htm

First of all I am sorry for the loss. It's not good to lose your father. It's pretty strange. The subconscious mind is really powerful. But I don't think I understood correctly what you dreamed. So you met your father, he showed you where he lives and you can't call that place "home". Again I say pretty strange. Maybe when he went to Heaven he's not happy there without his wife (your mom) and without you (and your bro or sis if you have any). That's the way I think it is. Again I am sorry for your father.

In that dream somehow I could feel that we had been separated for a while. Perhaps he felt the same way. And that was how we got to his new house. It was just a small wooden hut with nothing much inside, very old and very dilapidated. While I felt very shocked and sad he just looked normal and happy enough to show me inside. But he spoke very little.

That reminds me to ask another question... Are you 100% sure he's gone. You know what I mean when I say "gone".

Physically he is, yes, but not in spirit. And I know he lives in me.

Hi tomi, Do not put too much emphasis on it, it might be real or it might NOT. Just be grateful for the relationship you had together, in fact (read this with an open mind), maybe you could celebrate it on his anniversay, thank him for having been a wonderful father and nurturing you to prepare for your own journey in life.

I don't really know what is the meaning of your dream tomi. Maybe your dream related with your mind that always remember him or maybe he want to say something to you. He couldn't meet you in real world when you awake but he only could give you sign in your dream. In my belief, we usually need help to a psychic if we have dream like you several times. But if it happen only once, we just ignored it. I don't know what is your belief but in my life, I believe with our ancestor. They protect our life and always give a sign if there is something wrong.

Well dream of course is a product of our imaginations. We dream almost 10 times a night but we only remember a few of those dreams. Our mind never stop from working even in our sleep.
