An Update On Me And My Family.....

There is SO much to tell!! Where do I begin? LOL I know, at the beginning but when so much happens, we tend to lose where the beginning is.....
Now I'm not one to brag, ok? I didn't tell anybody sooner because there were so many of you who were in such dire straps that I didn't want to throw a pie in anyone's face so I kept it to myself but now that most of you are in better shape, I feel I'm able to tell you some things that I kept secret. Hubby and I bought a brand new (2010) camper this earlier this summer! It's beautiful! 23 feet long and just awesome! We had planned to go camping sooner but our truck, the one that hubby got from his step dad when he passed away, wasn't strong enough to pull it. It could pull it but there was a strain in it when going up hill so we knew then it was time to get rid of the truck and get a bigger one. Besides, the memories of his parents was too much for both of us so it was time to get rid of it so we did! Then we got a really good deal on a brand new (2010) truck, a Ford F-250. This truck will pull the camper without any problems. In fact, we were told that we won't even feel it behind us, which is nice! I SO can't wait to go camping! lol
Now some bad news but it's going to get better though. My dad has been right sick for a while however, he's doing much better now. Saturday morning he had a coughing fit and he fell backwards and dislocated his thumb in three places. The doctor was able to fix two of them but the last one requires surgery which will happen probably next week sometime. For now, he's in a hand brace.
Now some GREAT news! When they came home, mom found her cat, Holly outside the door begging to come in!!!!!! She's the one that went missing and had been gone for three months!!!!! We all thought she was gone, killed by coyotes!! She was so rail thin and her eyes had this far away look but mom said that she doesn't have that look anymore and is eating like a pig. We think she might have gotten caught in someone's barn or something and couldn't get out so she must've survived on eating bugs and mice. Mom got some dewormer for her and I brought a vial of Frontline to put on her to get rid of the fleas and ticks she had so I know she has to be feeling a lot better from that and to be home again..... INCREDIBLE!! AND get this!! It was Holly's birthday too!! She came home on her third birthday!! How cool is that??!!
While up there seeing Holly, dad approached me and asked me to fix something to eat for mom because he hadn't been able to cook because he's been so sick. Oh man! I let him have it!! I was so upset and angry because they didn't tell me sooner!!
So hubby went to the store and got what was needed and we made them a meat loaf, a pot of cabagge and potatoes and a pot of chicken and dumplings. Hubby brought home a chicken rotisiouri as well. Mom said it was all delicious and how they appreciated all that we've done. Today we're taking some home made enchiladas up to them and going to make some hamberger helper too so they'll have more to eat. I jokingly told mom, 'you have your left hand, dad has his right, between the two, you ought to be able to fix something' We all laughed like hell!! ROFLMBO!!
Sunday was my parents 56th Wedding Anniversary! Our 19th Anniversary is today! It's hard to believe that we've been married for that long!! Time sure does fly on by us as we get older!! I'd like to know where does it go?! LOL Well, my parents anniversary is Aug 15th and their next door neighbors anniversary is the 16th and ours is the 17th. We were going to celebrate it together by going out to eat this Saturday but dad fell and hurt his thumb so that was cancelled out till later when dad's hand heals. Hubby and I plan on going out tonight by ourselves after we drop off the meal for my parents.
As for the cross stitch that I'm making for my dad, it's almost done. I'll say about another two more weeks, give or take, it'll be done. I promise to get a picture of it when I'm finished and post it on here for you all to see!!
So how are you all doing? Has it been a busy summer for you too? I really miss you guys!! But I'll be back..... eventually.....

Hi lovinangelsinstead21! I'm playing "catch up if you can" again! lol Thank you for your well wishes!! Hubby and I did go out and celebrate ourselves and are suppose to again with mom and dad and with their neighbors but that won't happen till dad gets to feeling better.
After hubby read the book on his new truck, we now know we have to put a thousand miles on the truck before it can pull anything. Something to do with 'breaking it in' first before hooking it up to something to pull. We're working on it! Believe me! We're working on it because we want to go camping so bad! lol Take care of yourself!

Hiya catsanddogs,
Yes I know what you mean it´s call the "rodaje" well that´s in Spanish but you have to break the Car in bit by bit well I mean the Truck.
Once that´s over then you can go on your Camping Holiday.
I play that game of catching up that is what I am doing right now too catching up. Have a great Summer.

Its terrific Cats that you have more good news then bad. Its bad about your dads thumb but its not earth shattering. Hot damm on getting the camper and truck, I'm really happy for you and hubby. Thats super about your momma's kitty. One of my cats have been missing for about a month. it gives me hope that she will appear on the porch. I have been really busy this summer, haven't had much time on here neither. Had a few minutes tonight to check in, glad I got to see this post and respond to it. Take care Cats, I hope things continue to go well for you. XOXO

Hi Polly! I'm playing "catch up if you can" again! lol Has your kitty come back yet? If she hasn't, don't give up hope! Put up a bunch of flyers with her picture so others can see and maybe someone will see her and get her back to you. I did that once and it got my kitty back. It does work!

Are the house apes leaving you alone?

Sorry to hear your dad got hurt, but otherwise, pretty good news all around.
Same ol' same ol' round here, just getting hotter.
The only news of any kind, and it is good news, is that our friend from McAllen is coming up for a week to visit!!!

Wow Cats a lot has been going on! Congratulations on the brand new camper; I am so envious. I’d love one of those! Too bad about your dad getting sick and hurting himself, hopefully he will be sorted out soon. You are still the best daughter any parent could ask for by the sound of it cooking such nice food for your parents. I was so relieved to read about Holly! What a miracle for her to return on her birthday! She must have been trapped somewhere because cats always come home, if they don’t it’s almost always because they can’t. What a great birthday present for kitty to be home again and for your parents’ anniversary. Fifty six years, that is a good achievement as is nineteen of course. Enjoy your special night out with your husband, have fun and enjoy, you deserve it!

Holly is still home, she hasn't even asked to go outside. Mom doesn't want her to go out but will when and if she wants to but she'll be real reluctant but will let her but as of yet, Holly hasn't wanted to go anywhere. She's just so happy to be back home again.

i would every thing is good untill it is presented good , try to express your feeling in a good way so that we could understand well, so we could react to it, but if it is like saying to oneself then , it would fall to deaf ears,
one thing i can do is hope u and family be always good

Another camper! Cool! I can't wait to start camping again. We had to sell out RV when we were in Arkansas because we were moving but now we have a camper and will be going again soon! It's so nice to share some good news for a change.

so was glad to find your discussion . good lu ck and God Bless.
