Drawing analogies to prove God exists? What do you think? If at the end it leads to inconsistency, better not!

Analogy might be useful but to prove God's existence takes a lot more than an analogy. As a house is built by a person, so the builder of all things is God. A good analogy but obviously it will not accepted by all. While there is a lot of evidence of God's existence and communication with man, very few are willing to do the research necessary to see it. It can be right in front of our eyes but we can deny it, until it smashes into our face. And that it will!

I don't think, analogies without logical conclusions can enlighten people. They're only to support fanaticism. Thanks.

Hi Starchaser! Thanks for your comment. As far as myself is concerned I'm convinced God exists. Can I prove it to someone else? Yes and no! If they want me to prove it I can prove it. If they don't want the proof then I can't. It's the way God wants it. Those who search for Him find Him and those that don't want to find Him don't. It's like gravity. I can't show you gravity. I can only prove it by the effect it has. Where there is an effect there has to be a cause. The jump from non-life to life is so immense that it would take a leap of faith. The universe had a beginning. There was no universe at one time. Science has proven that. But where did all diverse materials come from? And where did life come from? From nothing or from someone with amazing power and wisdom? I'll have to shout like the ancient Israelites in: 1 Kings 18:39 (Young's Literal Translation) 39And all the people see, and fall on their faces, and say, `Jehovah, He [is] the God, Jehovah, He [is] the God.'

Sure, we can use analogies to prove Go exists. But not so many of us can get the point, even, at the end, we become inconsistent as to the fact of the logical results coming along. For example, when we say God is like barber. Consistently, barber won't come to us to offer his skill to cut our hair. We go there ourselves to have our haircut. The same as God, God won't come to us, let alone with his spirit and son in one person to offer his help. We go, find him. Also like religion is the key, you have to use all efforts to escape from a dark room with the right key available among the scattered ones on the floor. The key owner won't come to you as the savior, bringing along with him in one, son and spirit. I'm sorry 1hopefulman, this is not to discredit your religion, but to invite all of us to muse and reflect on logical things. I appreciate what you believe in and all of your efforts to be a truth seeker. Thank you, peace be upon you.

No one should use analogy to prove God's existence. To believe in God is to have faith in Him. Prove God's existence by miraculous signs and wonders!

Why not? It shows how two things are similar. Signs and wonders? Sure, but only when they bring about logical understanding. Thanks.
