Whats Wrong With the People In Charge At Kohl's?

My relative who works at Kohl's was telling me over a year ago on how the people in charge at Kohl's(the managers above all the other managers)just hire workers for like 5 hours a week a wonder why they quit. The same thing is still going on and they still can't seem to get the fact that's not enough hours for people to stay at a job. Everybody seems to know this is a mistake and want to fix it except the people at the top making the work schedule. Too few people including my relative seem to be the only ones getting adequate enough hours to stay. I mean how long does it take to get the idea something isn't working.

They do it because they don't have to give them benefits, of course. Hopefully this tactic will shoot them in the foot eventually...

They try to avoid it, it's easier to train new people and pay them less. This happened to my brother-in-law in AZ, they wouldn't give him full time for more than a few weeks straight, because if they do it for a certain number of weeks, he gets benefits...

They aren't very smart, and they are probably going to go out of business like Mervyn's did. Mervyn's made a lot of mistakes and they went out of business, and now, Kohl's might be meeting the same fate.

Kohl's is doing very good customer wise. i don't see how it could go out of business in the short-term. it possible in the long-run but i'm very skeptical even about that. i guess i could of said the same thing about blockbuster years ago since it looks like netflix is getting ready to put them out of business.

I think things like this happen in work places quite a bit.
The people in charge of making the decisions, have never worked in the actual capacity of a everyday worker.
They do not get to see the cause and effect of their decisions. Of course to everyday people it would not make sense to have a lot of people working a few hours a week. It also cannot help in trying to retain people.

i can't really say if the people in charge have ever worked as an average everyday worker at some point during their life. i know the common sense is lacking though. i would really like to know what if anything do they see as a positive by doing this for so long. surely there's a reason for doing this after so long. i mean what is their long-term outcome? i just don't get it.

hi elmiko those big bosses just do not get it that in order to live on what people make, they must have enough hours to get a paycheck to cover the costs of their living.Surely if they hired one person to work thirty hours a week instead of six people to only work five hours a week they would actually get more wo
k out of the thirty hour a week worker than the six workers who only got five hours a piece.
