Reding books or listening to music. My personal experience is that reading books or listening to music solved problems temporarily they didn't solve problems in the long run. can any one suggest me the best way to cope up depression or being moody.

You can read while listening to a soothing cd. But then again, you're right that is short term. What I usually do is rearrange my furnitures and get a long bath after. I would also clean my closet and anyhting that looks disorderly. I read somewhere that a messy place adds to anxiety. Haha! I'm not sure if it's true but somehow it helps me every now and then. Maybe, the effort I put into doing things and the time that passed helped me forget. If that doesn't work, I'll invite my closest friends, cook together while drinking then settle down for a long chat. Even if I don't want to open up, we can talk about days gone by. Somehow, conversations about yesteryears bring laughter that can lift my spirits. If all of these distracting activies won't work, then I have to search where my depression is coming from. Hopefully, I can find a way to work through and around it.

Hi!If I'm in a depressed mood,a book could really help me divert my low feeling.Music can be but I experienced that the more I listened to music the more i become more sentimental in a way as my mind can wander while listening to it.The book is a sure win as it really hooks my mind onto it, making me forget whatever that bugs me.But if i could choose other divertions then i would say dvds because mosty when I'm depressed , I alos loose interest in reading, so with dvd's playing i feel more relaxed and engrossed in watching that I forget any situation that's depressing.

when I am in a foul mood, I love to read..or watch a light romantic comedy film or series. That way, somehow, it enlightens my mood. And if it's still not working, I look for my friends to have a "power talk"...that way they can make me smile or encourage me...

Unfortunately the steps to correct a mood or depression are multifolds. Although reading a book or listening to music are short term remedies, alteast they are able to keep your mind busy for a while. Try watching movies or doing things that keep you busy or things that give u peace.
