Hawaii, Beaches or Volcanoes?

I have been to Hawaii twice; first time was to Kauai and Hawaii(the big island) and the second was to Maui. While the beaches and water are nice, I liked the volcanoes and things associated with them more. The craters, the lava tubes, walking out on still warm fresh lava and the views from the top of some of the mountains formed by the volcanoes were my favorite parts of being there.

That's real nice. I was born and raised in Oahu and I never went to the Big Island to see the volcano's or the Lava. I lived near Diamond head though which is a dormant one. Those islands are great for a nice peaceful vacation. All I can really comment on is the blue water which I do miss since the water here in Cali looks more gray then blue.

Snorkeling, that's the ticket. With a few side trips to see volcanoes, botanical gardens, etc.

I've never been to Hawaii. I've been to a lot of beaches, mainly in Florida and California. But I'd love to be on a beach in Hawaii. I'd love to see a volcano too. I really would rather go get an up close look at volcanos that sunbathe on a beach.

I have never been to Hawaii, but I would love to see an active volcano - granted I saw Mt St. Helena, but it was post eruption and all done years before

Hawaii is knows for beautiful and amazing beaches. I did not know that they also have some volcanoes and craters the lava tubes. That would be exciting to feel and experience. But I prefer beaches because there I could swim and enjoy the water.

I've never been to Hawaii but through your description, I can share the place i have visited myself here in the Phillipines. Camiguin Island. The Island consist of 7 volcano.. they are inactive as of this moment. We can view the beauty of camiguin by crossing the sea going to the white island. It is plain... and no trees..plainly sand. You will also see the floating cemetery of camiguin. We can tour the Island for a day. The people there are kind and honest, very accommodating. And they do not take advantage to the tourist who visits the island. This Island are rich in natural resources. We can find falls here, hot spring and a lot more. This is best for the people who wants adventure... And the Island of Camiguin is one of the best placed I ever visited in my entire life.
