Have you been on a cruise? I got to go on a Cross Stitch Cruise with my best friend from Canada and my 16 year old son on the Sapphire Princess Cruise Ship.
It was for 7 days and we went to Puerto Valarte, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Luca
I loved every minute of it. My girlfriend and I both worked on a piece we decided to start together same pattern stitching seperate pieces.
I am now going on a cruise in a couple of weeks with my husband to Cancun and Cozumel. We have not decided on the shore excursions yet but I plan on relaxing and just enjoying being out on the ship and not having to jump in a car on vacation and go find some place to eat then back to hotel...I think cruising is more relaxing than driving somewhere or flying somewhere then still having to go and do everything out in a car somewhere.
Would love to hear from people that have cruised and where you have been
After this one we are looking forward to a Alaskan cruise hopefully next year

Cruises for me have been the best, it's relaxing. My first cruise I took was two years ago and it was only for 4 days, I found it way to short. My last cruise was with Carnival and I went to Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan and Grand Cayman. My personal opinion, I wouldn't do much in Cozumel the best thing do to are the beaches, I can't recall what beach I went to, but it was really close to the port and everything was inclusive including alcholic beverages and pretty cheap about $40 per person.
I already have reservations for a Disney cruise next year and I am looking forward to disconnecting and relaxing. Since me and my hubby discovered cruising we've been doing it ever since. I have found it to be the best vacation that I could ever take.
And hopefully in 2012 we plan on taking the Alaska cruise, which I have heard it's marvelous. If you decide to take that cruise, make sure you try to get an ocean view or a balcony they say the view is spectacular and worth every penny.

I must be getting old LOL
I got spoiled on the princess cruise there were more adults than children.
We went on our Carnival Cruise and it was loaded with children as the prices were so cheap. got to admit they do have a good family pricing in cruises.
I love Disney but not sure I want to do a disney cruise I raised my 5 children and on the carnival cruise I had to say to kids slow down as they were racing up and down stairs no parent around.
Not sure yet which cruise line we will go on to Alaska but I am thinking it will be the Princess Cruise.

CROSS STITCH cruise - that sounds like a BOAT load of fun - at least to me!
Beading would also be good.
No, haven't been on a cruise, but the roomie's mom is taking her on a cruise to Puerto Rico at the end of September to jointly celebrate the roomie's 50th and her mom's 70th birthdays.

Aww that is cool. A Beading cruise LOL you brought back some memories LOL
We owned a houseboat when the kids were younger. My husband saw us bring the boxes of beads aboard...my kids made safety pin beaded designed pins and had all kinds of colors of seed beads.
Well to make a long story short Amy and I were sitting in the dining booth workiing on a design and a boat passed us faster and left waves my hubby hade to manuever through well so did Our beads LOL
Next thing you know you heard SHHHHHHHHHH and beads were making that noise after being toppled
Amy, my son Nick and I got so tickled we could not stop laughing because every time we went over a wave we could hear them move again
we got down and picked up all we could see laughing all the time.
Next morning while kids and I were still sleeping you heard hubby up and using the wet and dry vac and all you could hear was Shhhhhhhhhh as the beads were being sucked up!!!!
Thanks for the memories LOL it was a fun time
yes we all loved the cross stitch cruise.
HOpe you find one
I found mine in a Cross Stitch Magazine and talked my friend into doing it. We went to Mexico and my son got to go it was awesome!

Hello Marie. You are a lucky lady. I know Pricess Cruises are so nice and enjoyable. I have not been on one yet. I am looking forward to having the opportunity in the near future. Yes, it is the Alaskan cruise I want to be on. It will be a ver scenic view all along the west coast of Canada and the State of Alaska. The Canadian Rockies in the background would be so awesome !

Yes the Princess Cruises are very nice and accomodating thats why when we book for our Alaska Cruise I want to use them might have to spend a bit more but it will be well worth it and want to make sure we have a balcony.
I am doing this Cancun/Cozamel Mexican trip cause hubby has never done one and we could not beat it 5 nights 6 days for only 300.00 each
We will be on the Carnival Elation this time. And I got a feeling its a good time to go on a Carnival since they are known for family ships and school has just started
I just wanted to get away for a week without having to do a thing and when you have to drive and stop to do what you want and get back in the car and then go eat etc then back to the hotel
I have come home so worn out I need a week at home just to unwind from the vacation!
Good Luck on your trip sounds like you have yours mapped out already
have you looked at?

It is a great place to get good reduced rates off of cruises I love my cruise specialist and can call him anytime with any questions
But their rates are better than local travel agents and the cruise lines
Good Luck hon

I have never been on a cruise! I'm really unsure about going on one. My main concern is getting sea sick and not being able to enjoy my trip.I once was on a fairly large casino boat and felt really sick, which is why it worries me.
I think taking a cruise sounds like fun though! Hopefully one day I can convince myself to just give it a try and go on a cruise as a summer vacation!

HI Jen
Yes the smaller the boat the bigger the waves and the more awful you feel LOL
My son took his diving and we went out in the middle of the ocean one day I wanted to see him do his first real dives...I maintained but yep I was sick LOL
If you look at Mexican cruises and alaskan cruises they tend to what travel agents call it hug along the coast line...so you really dont get out in the rough waters unless you are going way out on the transalantic ones
I like the cruise over a vacation
We took a week cabin in Tennessee
We went to Ripleys Aquarium one day, we went to the Smokey Mountians one day, we went to a Exotic Animal place and all I can say is we were in and out in and out of the car then if we did not want to eat at the cabin we had to find something to eat etc
you get the pic
There are some motion sickness pills that really aid you when flying or cruising etc
Your doctor can give you a prescription.
But most of the mexican and Carribean and Alaskan cruises are so close to land that you dont get the waves you get when going across the ocean
you can also read my reply to the person above if you can and it gives a lot of information on cruising
we are taking this cruise and hopeing to do Alaska next year economy permitting
If you go to www.vacationstogo.com also you will see the discounted prices they have to what a travel agent or going to the cruise line directly.
you can learn a lot about doing a cruise and it answers all your questions on everything. and if not they are the friendliest people to get help through to ask
Good Luck on your first cruise
I am just gonna relax and eat when hungry LOL and see a show or two

I have never been on a cruise but i would love to go on one. I dont have the money to go on one but i am thinking about saving up for a very special occasion to go on a cruise, or if i ever get married i think the best honey moon would be on a cruise and see other places around the world.

HI you would not believe what I am paying for a 5 night 6 day cruise...only 300.00 each for hubby and I
The only other thing you pay for is if you drink liquour which we dont, if you go to the casino which we limit to 25.00 any time we have EVER went to a casino, and a couple of specialty restaurants like a Baskin Robbins for ice Cream or specialty coffees or sodas.
My husband I drink juices and hot tea and coffee so we really dont need to purchase anything else
I like it because it allows you not to have to get in a car to go see a show (they have entertainment) the last cruise I was on had first run movies going at different times during the day you had access to a golf practice course, workout, serveral pools, hot tubs, By the time you book to go to a city and drive and find a hotel and then have to drive around to eat and drive to get to your entertainment and pay for that each I realize we paid more out of pocket rather than setting on a huge ship with everything included, also they have bands and plenty of night life
And the buffet is endless LOL...they say most people gain weight on a cruise I actually lost 5 lbs because I was eating better on there than I was at home LOLOL
If you are ever interested in booking a cruise this is who I book with
www.vacationstogo.com
The first time I booked my first cruise I booked through a local travel agent and if I knew then what I know now, I would have booked through this online company.
I now have my own private travel agent through them and he answers all my questions not only on this cruise I am taking but the one to Alaska we are going to take
Take a peek even if you are not ready and you will see the differences in booking with them price wise than booking with a local travel agent or the cruise ship themselves...its amazing
We will be going out of Mobile Alabama to Cancun And Cozamel Mexico
I have been to Puerto Valarte, and Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas with my girlfriend and son
Its a two hour drive to the port to get on the ship and they take care of our car for the week for 75.00 with security
Good Luck and take a small cruise sometime its one way of vacationing you wish you could always do
My dream is to do a transatlantic but never know i have bad health so I just have to wait and see if the money and my health merge LOL
Good Luck and yes it would be a perfect honeymoon you would love it!
