extra finger no way / myLot

my father in law told me about a fellow navy man whom had shared quarters/a cabin with another sailor for over 2 years. on the final day the other man( holding up his hand )said how pleased he was that his extra finger had not been mentioned or made a joke of. that's ok said the surprised sailor, i did'nt really notice. he had actually never noticed. do you think you would have spotted it?

I think I would have noticed. Usually, I am observant of people around me. In grade school, we had a classmate who had two thumbs in his left hand. It was so cool to look at because it was as if the whole thumb was split in two, and the two thumbs were intertwined.

If I was looking that hard, I may would have noticed his extra finger. But if he has an extra finger by doing something worthwhile, then I probably looked right past it.

I as a kid noticed it on one of friends when i was a child.We used to ask him but never make fun of him.If i was in the navy as you said i would be too preoccupied with my work to let these small things bother me.Even if i noticed it i wouldn't pay much heed to it.
