hello mylotters this is abj again......i am studying civil engineering right now....i am in 2 nd year and i am happy with my decision of choosing civil branch....because everyone fooled me when i chose civil....but i am having interest in this branch that why i am learning the education.....civil branch is a branch of engineering which deals with construction......i am happy that i didn't chose computer science branch....they just have to work in front of computers whole day but i will work in real life......

hi abj sounds like you have found the major that is right for you
and as you say civil engineers do build the world. there is always
a need for them and men who love to be outside and busy, as opposed
to computer nerds who love the whole world of computing but believe
you me it is also the real world, do not think it isn't . if I was
young again I think I would train in computer science. but we do
need men who love civil engineering and if you love something you
will do well in it too.

the branch which got totally down during recession is computer science and IT......
india is been a big market for IT engineers but they are having physical problems due to sitting in front of computer for whole day....ya they are getting money but health is more important than money according to me..thats why i chose civil...
and i am sure i will love my work because it is outdoor work and a social work....

Hey abj! I am also a Civil Engineering student. I am in 2nd year as well and am in NIT, Durgapur. Which College you are from? Civil Engineering work is really fascinating, when we are to logically find how to make the brick junctions to make a strong sectional bonding and also during surveying, the elimination of errors. I am also very very Thankful I took up this stream. It's a really awesome branch!!

Hi abj163! =D I am also a Civil Engineering student. I am now a 3rd year student, good luck and always concentrate on your studies. Don't let those sleepless nights discourage you, it's part of it and I think it's normal for our course.
