Are we ready for World Cup 2011?

Cricket is much more than a game in India and winning a world cup is all that we dream of. There is so much money involved in Indian Cricket and without any doubt Cricket is the most common hobby in India. Still we are not able to win a world cup after 1983, Why? Before 2007 world cup we did not have that kind of talent and opponents were very strong (e.g. Australia). Whatever we achieved in World cup 2003 was because of Sachin, Ganguly and fortunately a lit bit of team effort. Now things have changed every century of Sachin has produced 1000 good players in India (Its a fact, that is why we dont have good bowlers but we do have so many batsmen). There were so many big names in World Cup 2007 but still we failed, whatever be the reason, we were supposed to learn from that and preapare well because everyone is concerned about cricket and there are so many talented players in our country now. Points to be noted for world cup 2011: 1. We do not have an all rounder. (We include Jadeja and Exclude Irfan) (ha ha ha) 2. We do not have a good bowling attack. (We are not giving fair chace to one of our best bowler "Irfan Pathan" and others are injured) 3. Our batting is good. (Still if there is something in the pitch, it does not take more than 15 overs and 75-100 runs in getting wrapped up, e.g. fist match of tri-series) 4. Doubtful new players are included in team. (Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Jadeja etc if you see their faces you will feel that they dont have that attitude still ther are in the team) 5. Captaincy does play a role in winning matches or tournament (E.g. WC 2003 and WC 2007), Dhoni is one of the best captains India has got but is he taking good decisions now? 5. IPL is conducted to imporve Indian talent and to find new talents. If you see last IPL, consistent players e.g. "Saurabh Tiwari" (This guy can hit Kumble over his head, has a temperament to Win a T20 match and play according to the situation and most importantly he can hit SHORT BALLS), Rayudu (His past scores are very good and he was also very good on Indian pitches) etc performed really well. Where are these two guys??? Rayudu is underground and Tiwari has got a job of waterboy..... well done India!!!! My question is who is responsible for this messed up Indian cricket team and how and when things will improve???

Being a Sachin Tendulkar fan, even I wish that it should happen and he should do it for us. But remember World Cup 2003, what else can one player do in World Cup. After all, cricket is team game a single player can not always win matches without any help (However, sachin has done it most of the team for India.) Also, now-a-days, our team is playing with 10 players and the opponents are allowed to play 12 players, actually, I am talking of "Jadeja" he wears Indian jersey but he plays for the Opponents, read my other comments where I have praised him in more detail. Please put some comment on his extra ordinary talent of screwing up matches single handedly.

I think the one day team in India is still evolving. This team that we have currently is not a great one as there is a huge variations in it's performance. On one day they are world beaters and on others they are really ordinary. For me the key is going to be the fact that on Indian pitches most of these batsmen are good, so in a way the bounce treatment which is really showing them up will not come into play in the sub continent pitches. On the bowling side if Zaheer is fit, then we do have a decent line up in Zaheer and Praveen. The problem is of course in the spin bowling dept., but both Bhajji and Ojha are better ODI bowlers than Test, so we should be fine in that. So for a world cup in India, I would not be unhappy with this team except for the consistency factor but the return of the Sachin should address that!! Cheers! Ram

i think the responsible thing to thins current situation of Indian criket team is the some problem happening inside the team with the selectors...... still i don't know why Irfan is out from the team...? i thing Jedeja is a complete failure he can't get that flow as in domestic criket.... i think now India need Irfan..... If the team management and the selectors are ready for some compromise then the 2011 will be one good year for Indian criket.......
