How to earn money from music online

Lets say you are an artist with some music you have produced. How can you use these songs to earn money online? Is it possible to get paid for views on your music page on a certain website? Could you otherwise monetize your musical content?
Please tell about websites you know of which you could earn from your music.

I am currently working with an online affiliate program that deals with music. It's under SFI, but with a subdivision called "TuneFlow". I am very proud to be part of this, because, here, we support the small artist, the indie musicians, instead of supporting giant music companies who are already rich.

If you have music video that you've made you should upload them on Blip.TV and Clipta.com, they pay you through monetization an views.
