It has been noted that a small contribution of the oil revenue, 1% has been mentioned, of some of the other Muslim countries would provide sufficient for their needs. So, you may be surprised which 2 countries have rallied to their aid all the best urban

I know that China has sent aid and that the US as usual has sent military helicopters. Other than that, I really have not watched enough news to know who else except UNICEF is collecting money etc. I am sure I will be enlighted further. Shalom~Adoniah

Last I heard the US and the EU were the top two when it came to disaster relief in Pakistan. If you're counting individual countries though it would be the US and Saudi Arabia. International help though has been pretty low overall.

Hmm, the sources I'm looking at all show Saudi Arabia at number 2 with $105-107 million. The UK's contribution is between $48 and $62 million. I'm not saying that isn't a good contribution, and I believe it's 3rd overall, but I haven't seen any sources saying that the UK was the second biggest donor for the relief efforts. http://www.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/dawn-content-library/dawn/news/world/04-saudi-arabia-107-million-aid-floods-qs-08 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-11011620

I don't know which countries have done that. But I won't be surprised if it's not Muslim countries. I also have my reservation if pouring in money would really be used to help those affected people. As usual they may use the money to finance terrorism. Or am I being too mean here with Pakistan!

Well, I agree in general about pouring in money, I have seen the harm done by charity to places in the world, first hand. And of course with Pakistan their is the risk it will go to fund terrorism But given the scale of the suffering don;t you think extraordinary events call for extraordinary responses? all the best urban

If Pakistan can swear that money would be used to help the flood affected people only, and not for any other purpose like financing terrorism then they deserve help. But how to we know that they'll keep their promise because they are known for breaking their words, and they won't swear in the name of their God! I find it difficult to trust their government because ISI has too much power. In our Indian system army would never operate beyond the power entrusted to it by the government.

Aye, but do we ever know people will keep their word? Sometimes we have to just have faith all the best urban

It's unimaginable that so little has been done! Just yesterday, a news report pointed out that donations have been minimal almost everywhere. That's unconscionable! Who has come through, Urban?

Indeed it is, time to put away petty differences and rally to their aid all the best urban
