It depends on what type of songs you play. If it is more on plucking the string and not much on strumming, like those of classical rendition, then go for a nylon string guitar. But if you are more inclined to rock type of plucking, like those of Scorpions, then go for a steel string guitar.

Just try them both since strings don't cost too much. I've tried both and I like nylon better. (Heavy gage Ernie Ball Nylon) Go with whatever lasts the longest and sounds best for you and what you do. A good way to get strings is to go here: http://tinyurl.com/2bw5g22

It actually depends on what kind of guitar you have. If you have a nylon stringed guitar it can only use nylon otherwise it will ruin the sound and possibly break the neck. Same goes for acoustic and electric.

Hi, Like one of my friends has already mentioned here, it mainly depends on what kind of piece you are gonna play on your guitar. If you are into classical, nylon stringed guitar is the best choice. If you are in folk or country or rock then steel stringed ones are excellent. Electric guitars are found to be customizable and playable with most compositions. Thanks. God bless you
