Many people say that men should not cry easily. He should be manly enough to handle problems and failures in life. Some of my friends say that too. I sometimes hear from parents scolding their child that he should not always cry since crying is for girls. Does it make a man or a boy less manly by crying? I don't think so... What do you think?

I don't think so. Because if they cry that would make them more of a man. Showing their true feelings than hiding it.

I don't think so. There's nothing wrong in crying. Besides, crying lessens the pain that we carry. I also think and find guys who cries more manly. I mean, they're not coward to let tears fall from their eyes, they'll cry if there's a heavy pain in their hearts. It doesn't lessen a man's ego when he cries.

i agree with you. i think it makes a man more manly when he is not ashamed to cry in front of others and break through the stereotype of men as beings who shouldn't be seen crying. i think handling problems and failures doesn't exclude crying. of course, like women, men can still handle their problems and failures even if they cry. crying is just a way of letting out your emotions and it really does help because after you have let all your emotions out. you can think clearer and it helps you make better decisions. =D

I think it's silly when people tell their boy's this. I don't see anything wrong with boys crying. In fact, I think it's healthy for everyone to cry once in a while. My in-laws always told my husband that and now he has a hard time showing any emotion. So, I will definitely not do this to my son. I don't want him to feel like less because he shows his feelings and I don't want his marriage to suffer someday because of it either.

No, I don't think there is anything wrong with men crying, and certainly there is nothing wrong with boys crying, just as girls do. In this day and age, I think it is useless to keep boys from expressing their feelings honestly--that is a recipe for ensuring that they end up in therapy or marriage counseling as adults. Having said that, I can do without whining (from either boys or girls) and do tell my kids that they shouldn't whine.

A big No for that one.., I don't believe in that crap that crying makes a man less than a man he is.., Crying is a normal physiologic response of our body in response to stimuli.. may it be a sad or happy one.., I find men who does not want to cry.., hypocrites.., because if you are true to yourself.., then you would cry if something is worth a tear right?
